From what I've played, the single player stands pretty true, but the multiplayer lags like a bitch.
So even though I already own the PC version and found that a bit dull, I picked up the LE of this (what can I say, I'm a Doom whore).
So far, I'm enjoying this much more than the PC version. The levels all seem to be tweaked, with sections streamlined or removed entirely. Whether this was done for technical reasons or not I'm not sure of, but the end result is a faster-paced game that feels much, much more like Doom should feel. And as much as I enjoyed having my screen be pitch black 80% of the time in the PC version, I'm glad the lighting was turned up a bit here. It makes the very dark segments more unsettling, and once again it just plays faster when you're not constantly switching to and from the flashlight.
The PC version looks and controls better, but the Xbox version is the overall better game, in my opinion.
wow the port everyone thought would be horrid on Xbox turns out to be one of teh 1st PC to console ports to be better on a console huh?
well thanks for sharing now & not when all the fucking CE were still available
I picked up one of the 20 CEs at Gamestop. It's not hard to find one.

The point about not having to switch to the flashlight is a great one as well, as it gives you better reaction time when a fucking Imp straight from hell tears away at a step you just came down and lunges a bit of hell-fire you're way before you can even go "Huh?".
Great game made better on the Xbox.
I haven't tried Multiplayer or Co-Op because no one's been around to play it with me. Someone mentioned that multiplayer was lagging? These two versions hold their own well?
And I played DooM II: Hell on Earth last night for several hours. Bliss.
That's because you never leave your house.Quote:
