I haven't played the PC game in more than six months, but I don't really notice less use of the flashlight in the Xbox version. Which is good for me, because I like that mechanic of the game.

Might stop by there sometime this weekend and play this through with you. But I have a lot to do today so it'll be much later on tonight or sunday. Let me know what's cool.Quote:

The weapons lacks a certain punch and I tend to get freaked out but also annoyed by the cheap scares, it does have some draw to it.
It's Doom. So yes, that's really all it ever is (though you might use a bit more strategy when you get the soul cube... not much though). There are a few interesting sections that change things up for a few minutes, but for the most part it's just pure action.Quote:

The port of Ultimate Doom has a really weird bug/oversight. The sky does NOT change between episodes... it's always the mountains of Knee Deep in the Dead. Granted, this is one of my favorite backgrounds in a game, but it's still a weird oversight in what is otherwise a very good port of the two classic Dooms.
Oh, and I still think this is more enjoyable than the PC version of Doom 3 by a fair margin.
Me and BM co-oped this last night in like three hours.
Sadly all the story elements were taken out, so I need to do a play through on my own to find out what the hell happened.
Doom 3 or Doom 1/2?
Co-op must be totally different if you can beat D3 in 3 hours. Or easy is really easy.
Does this bug hit the PC version as well?Quote:
