YO! NOID

i remember being sick of seeing this game in every videogame magazine back in the days, i never played it cuz i never bought the NES, so 20 years later i'm still curiouse to know what this game is all about. The part that strikes me the most is that it was made by Capcom! :wtf: to me it doesnt look like a Capcom game, if i had to guess i'd say it's made by Acclaim...or some crappy developers.

anyways, someone tell me more about this game, and is it made by Capcom of america?

and the box art sucked....but then again so did all of the box arts in the 8bit days.

...but to assist you, I hear the game is pretty good. Capcom of then had few duds in their library.

I remember my cousin renting this when I was a kid. I only played it for about ten minutes or so, but I really liked it. You used a Yo-yo as a weapon and had a pogo stick at some point, if I remember right.

I could make a joke here that Domino's Pizza is pretty much ruined the second its made, but I wont..

I'm fond of the one about the pizza tasting not much different than the box it comes in.

It's a good platformer. I rented it and tore it up back in the day. I remember there were spells you could store, and small scrolls would give you like one magic point, and big ones would give you more, OR you could hit them with your yo-yo and open them to see what spell they had inside and change it for your current one.

And there were pizza-eating contests between stages. The last stage in the game was one of these.

I remember getting the black Noid suit was key in one stage, since it took a hit for you (I think). Good game.

They changed it so much for North America that's it's barely recognizable from the original. Either way it's just an okay platformer.

I don't personally remeber what section of the NES game articles he placed it. But I do remember that he considered it surprisingly good, in it's context. So it's probably not in his "worst games" article. Not that it might not show up in another worst list. I just don't know.

Seems that aside from the Pizza eating contest, it was quite playable.

It's depressing that the Noid was actually the peak of Domino's advertising campains. I am not sure who invented 'Doctor Kraven' but nothing makes me want a pepporoni pizza more than the mentally associating it with being buried in garbage or pig mud.

Heh, I had this game back in the day. Really strange game, but had its fun moments. I distinctly remember the skateboard level. It's been a while, but from what I recall, it was good.

Great game. I reviewed it long long ago.
