MS seems to have all the chips in place now. They fixed the controller problem. And the software being shown at E3 looks freakin amazing. $199 price tag. What's keeping you from getting one?
Sounds great. Any word on a light gun yet?If not, I didn't mind the controller with HotD2(I could beat the game with only 1 continue using the fucker so I'm sure I can get myself back up that that point again) but having a light-gun really does make for a far different(Better) experience.
If there is no gun, I will not be getting this game. Gun Games are not Gun games with out a gun. Sounds like Sega is still trying to play it both ways, release a Gun game but no gun so they LOOK Politicly correct. Someone will make a gun, I hope Namco brings some sort of Gun Game to the Xbox so the Guncon will come out for the Xbox, you see Namco is not afraid to make a Gun for their Gun games. I really want this game bad, but only with a gun.
Technically, nothing. I mean, I can buy it tomorrow if I wanted. But I have a house and a family to uphold. Plus, I recently came off the fence to buy a PS2 for VF4. Since then, I've only bought Rez and Maximo and nothing else really interests me. There's some PS2 games shown at E3 (Contra, Shinobi, GunGrave) that convinced me to keep it.Quote:

I don't really fancy the idea of having to support 2 systems. I usually buy one console and stick with it, hell or high water. I've been doing it since I first got into gaming way back in '80. Luckily, I always manage to have friends who have the other systems, so I'm never too far away from great gaming experiences on consoles I don't own. And we haven't even factored in Gamecube (which so far, I'm wholly uninterested for the moment)!
But, you're right, XBox is slapping the naysayers this year with great games like Panzer, ToeJam & Earl, House of the Dead 3, Ninja Gaiden, and possible Streets of Rage (which will DEFINITELY win me over)and BETTER Virtua Fighter 4, plus great existing titles like Jet Set Radio Future, GunValkyrie and Project Gotham.
I'm definitely getting one, but not right now. Maybe 1Q2003.
Ah, Xbox is looking better and better. The $199 price tag, Ninja Gaiden, and HotD3 are starting to make me cave in. I've been riding the fence on Xbox for some time since Shikigami came out in Japan.
I'm hoping that OutRun 2 is for real. This would be the icing on the cake.

Shot down? Likely, seeing how I'm not always on top of the news. Last I heard, there was a better VF4 (VF Evo?) on the way for XBox. Still, even without VF, XBox has a great lineup coming. I just hope it continues into 2003, then I'll definitely get one.Quote:

Xbox pisses on PS2 from a great height mate on a technical level. Any real gamer would want ALL games to come out on Xbox, it's that simple. For the best draw distances, best frame rates, best image quality etc Xbox more than delivers. I love my PS2 and there are many games that out this year for it that I want (Gungrave this summer!) but if I want a game to look and sound the best it can, Xbox is the way to go. I may own a PS2 but the thought of what JSRF and Panzer Dragoon Orta would look like on it really makes me cringe.Quote:

I really don't mean to sound like such an Xbot (or whatever derogatory term is used these days on the Internet) but hating on the system is completely retarded and any Sega fan worth a damn should own one.
Here's hoping for a Xbox version of Silent Hill 3 as Silent Hill 2 on Xbox made the PS2 version look quite silly.

I completely agree. Though I believe having multiple systems competing for market share is good, I'd rather have a game come to my Xbox than my PS2 simply because of the HUGE hardware differences.Quote:

PS2 developers are getting some nice looking stuff out of that machine nowadays (DMC 2, ZOE 2, etc.), but nothing that reaches JSRF level of detail and size.Quote:

Reno - this is the first I've heard about Sony's 1 year exclusivity...no XB VF 4 hurts me badly. I'd hope Sega pulls a DoA 2, but I doubt they can afford to damage their relationship with Sony like that. VF 4, VO 4 and Shenmue III belong on Xbox, not hamstrung by a lack of texture RAM and hardware mip mapping. While I've got nothing against the PS2, I agree, in a perfect world all the more graphically intense games woud appear on the system that can best handle them.

And I still don't even own a Gamecube because the only title which interests me at all is Mario Sunshine. I think it's all a matter of personal preference. Just overall, PS2, and to a lesser extent Xbox, have more games.
