No. Because you can't know the volume of the water.

>_> I better let my chemistry teacher in on that.Quote:

Evolution is definitely a theory that is impossible to observe first hand. It's more a scientific explanation as to how certain animals seem tailor-made to perform the tasks they do. If you think that one day a new species just pops out of the vag of an older species, you might want to read up on what the theory of evolution actually says.
Well, it's really just a measure of the ideal and the infinite. No matter how accurate the device, you cannot measure out an absolutely specific amount of water. The water you measure out will have a specific volume (dependent on the reference frame), but you can never know it.
That's why I think an ultimate exists. Whether or not it's loving/sympathetic/vengeful whatever is something different altogether. So when someone says "Well, Jesus didn't turn water into wine" or whatever and then follows with "So God doesn't exist", I dismiss them as an idiot ;p
My second paragraph doesn't logically follow from the first one, but the difference is that it doesn't matter.
you're nuts. And not the fun loving funny nuts. You're the talking to rocks and making houses out of bottles nuts.Quote:

I can't. I'm not perfect.Quote:

The problem with science is that we're just beginning to understand things. Everytime we think we know the answer someone comes along and changes the question completely. I don't think someone who believes God created the Earth is an idiot. It's simply a belief. And who's to say God didn't plan evolution for a self-sufficient planet.Quote:

I get a bit hostile because of people like g0zen. They make me ashamed of the human race, really. Saying 'religion is a defect' is no better than saying 'black people are stupid'. Problem is, I'm sure he's totally against that second statement.
Astrophysics is a totally different ballgame though. With that everything is hypothesis because it is so distant from us and if that hypothesis fits in with what we know then it is good, but is most likely going to change.
With evolution, if you dismiss it you dismiss 150 years of biological work. The entire field of biology is based on evolution as a working theory. It can be backed dozens of ways including fossil records, accounts of the change in creatures via documentation, replicating selection in controlled situations and genetically through proteins and other ways that start getting really technical. The theory of evolution is not stagnent, it does change, but the core of it is going to hold up probably for the history of mankind.
You bring up an important point. Who knows if god didnt preplan evolution. That is an entirely valid view to have within our scope of knowledge. However, I am not saying belief in god = idiot. Belief in creationism = idiot. Creationism is not the belief that god created the earth. Creationist believe that god created earth in exactly 7 days and that he made everything and that nothing has changed (meaning that evolution is false) and man has been here since the start. Anybody who believes that is an idiot.
