real heros are lame. People don't like perfect people as much as they like people that are just kind of better than them. I've said it before, but that is why people like batman more than superman. Batman has issues, and so do the villians and people connect to that better than someone that is just good for the sake of good. Marvel one uped DC by not only making their hero's flaud, they are all angsty and full of teenage/outsider BS.

This isn't a new feeling either. Religion has had the same problem. People have never really really liked God. He is perfect and unknowable. How do you talk to someone like that? You don't. The early church had such a problem with angel worship that they burned most of the manuscripts on angels to try to stop it. Now people do the same thing to Jesus. Hell, assuming jesus was made up, that may be WHY he was made up. People are unable to like a perfect being.

I'm not even a Superman fan so personally, I really don't care what people have to say about it but at least give a valid reason for your judgment. You can't have any kind of concrete judgment when your only source is a measly trailer. It's ridiculous. It's like saying you hate a certain food but you've nver tried it. How the hell can you hate a food you have never tried? You don't know if you will like it or hate it unless you actually eat it.

Maybe if you bothered to read more of my posts in this thread other than the one you'd realize I'm basing this on more than just the trailer. THe way Singer has handled the characters I hate to bring it up again but IE lois having a kid, the Father of the kid, Basing it on the first 2 donner films which BLEW instead of starting fresh, having spacey base his performance off hackmans and not what the character is, hiring an actor that can't act to save his life, hiring an actor that doesn't look the role, Using old footage of Brando that wasn't used in the first 2 movies, the design of the S sheild. I mean shit a bad trailer is at the end of a very long line of shitty things this movie has going for it.

And not for nothing but I don't need to taste Dog shit on a cracker to know I'm not going to like it.

I don't disagree, but the real interest in the Superman story comes from Superman's relationships with his mother, father, Lex, Lana, Lois and so forth. The way it's written is about dealing with his secret and how he interacts with others. More of a moral tune than a "rah-rah punch punch" one.

It should also be known that my ability to sit through sappy movies without becoming increasingly more violent is legendary amongst my male friends, and also a very big joke target amongst them as well. I will tell you the same I tell them: I regret nothing.

The church in America saw a huge revitalization in the early 90's and have been keeping their numbers up ever since. The 80's were the worst possible time for the Church, with a record number of faith driven individuals becoming secular. God wasn't supposed to be flawed, that's the reason you're supposed to worship him in the first place, and look to him for guidance according to his word.

How do you know you don't like to eat shit? By the smell, of course, and that tricky little gag reflex evolution put in your mouth. I don't like cheesecake, I personally feel it's a ladies desert, but I knew it before I took a mouthful. The mouthful just kind of solidified my state of mind and gave me the answers I sought.

How can a way a person's name is spelled be an opinion? He was born as Christopher Reeve and he died as Christopher Reeve. It's only been spelled "Reeves" by people who don't know any better.
