?
After the bruhaha of the whole 360 pricing/no standard hard drive debacle, I'm going to ignore the 360 version and go with (a).
Here's hoping LIVE play is a LOT better than 3.
I'm going to buy the Xbox version becuase I want to play it on Live and everyone is going to get it right away.
Then I'm going to buy the 360 version becasue I <3 Burnout and the 360 version will no doubt look incredible.
The 360 version will look exactly the same, but with an extra lens flare and more EA Trax.
I'm buying Legends for the PSP and Revenge for the Xbox. Whenever the 360 version comes out, I'll trade in Revenge for the 360 version.
Sounds about right.
Chux: your avatar reminds me of this.
I love me some lens flare.Quote:

That's nice, but people with dicks buy XBOX games.
I only got Burnout 3 maybe a month and a half ago, so I'll do just fine waiting for the Xbox 360 version.... of course I played the demo and that's slightly getting me to change my mind, and my co-workers aren't helping any by talking about it and playing it constantly :)
I'm so sorry.Quote:

The track designs are about a billion times better than Takedown. The new style of online crash modes actually make it fun. They pair you up against another person while everyone else is paired up with someone else and then you crash stuff.
Now that you can destroy cars from behind, it sort of makes everything a guessing game at high speeds. I don't know, I think it'd rather it be like Takedown where you just don't touch the other cars.
I'll either wait for the 360 version of just skip it entirely. Awesome soundtrack, amazing graphics (Sup 60 frames) and great track design. . but it still feels like Burnout 3.1.
So would you say you're "burnt out"?

New videos and for once it looks like a chimp isn't playing the game. Looks awesome.
Nice one.Quote:

This one is pretty much what you're looking for.Quote:

It can be found for dirt cheap on all 3 systems.Quote:

Another thing, can you change the button config on Burnout 3? I played the ps2 version but on the Xbox demo of BR, I don't like the gas button being the R trigger.
What's wrong with good analog pressure? The DC/Xbox triggers are the best thing to ever happen to racing games played with controllers.Quote:

Actually I hate using the analog triggers for anything other than shooting stuff in FPS games, so I can dig what Tojo is sayin.
Not watching to use triggers for racing games boggles my mind... I hate using the right analog stick like in PS2 games. I don't think you can change your controls... just get used to it, trust me.
Anyway, I'm getting it, but for the 360, so it'll be a while before I own it.
If it's really that amazing for the 360, I'll get it again, since I won't own an XB360 until after the new year anyway.
Too bad the 360 version got pushed to January. :(
IGN PS2 review is up, it got a 8.9.

Worth a read to check out the complaints.
On one hand, it'll mean I can blast fools with the traffic, on the other hand, the pure rush, and utter terror of traffic is gone.
That could work out well, but I'll miss just dodging traffic, as it was one of the most exciting parts of the previous games. I hope they pulled this off well.
I think a great alternative would to have a classic mode when you can turn the bumping off. I'd be nice to have a choice. Maybe for BO 5.
Regardless, I'll see you guys on Live Tues/Wed.
Yeah, I suppose I will have to. Just something I'm not used to I guess. As I said, I haven't played a racing game since Ridge Racer around the launch of the ps1 so it's a good 9-10 years for me. Regardless, I preordered the game from DVD planet ($34!) but I have no idea when I'll actually be getting it. They say theirs is shipping on the 20th.Quote:

I was going to get the 360 version, but it getting bumped to January killed that idea. I just don't feel like waiting that long, and unless the Xbox 360 version has some amazing new content, don't really see the point. How good does it have to look, anyway?
Replaced with the fear of wiping out on tracks with a lot more in the way of obstacles. In the demo, I found turbo-ing and battling near pillars in the middle of the road taking the place of traffic quite nicely.Quote:

Why hasn't this leaked yet!
I'm asking the same thing as I play the PSP one.
How is it Chux?
Fabulous.
Nigga, more than a one word review please. Impressions, for real.
Think Burnout 3 in your hand.
You win this round.
I'll give more detailed expressions after I play it some more, I'm at work now, and as awesome as it would be to play my psp in between transactions, it's not gonna fly.

God I hope not. Because I have to buy a PSP if so...Quote:

This sucks.
Rank 6, yet I'm not finished with chapter 3. They really let you skip around courses if you want.
Awesome game, btw.
So yeah, it's "out" but is it OUT out today?
Yes, in stores, all that jazz. I should have my copy this evening after work, I'll be heading out to pick up this and Legends. But then I have to flash my Xbox back for Live. *cries*
I am disappointed that they didn't fix the falling-through-the-ground glitch that was in the demo, but at least it's really rare. Still something terrible to leave in, nevertheless. I'm also having some trouble because I'm not used to the redone physics, they patched all the loopholes in hitting people during turns that I used to use to cheat death and now I just end up owning myself whenever I try that. They also have a more advanced hit detection system on the stages which makes wall-riding a whole lot more dangerous then it used to be, I also think they designed some of those railings specifically to screw with people.
The stage with the constant twists and the great wall of China thing going on is my favorite so far, it's just plain awesome in every way.
The courses are pretty bad ass! The game takes some getting used to, but it's a ton of fun.
Just picked up my copy, I'll see you fuckers online TONIGHT.
Hey. At least this is the slowest torrent ever.
Everyone go for whe XBOX-Burnout Revenge Usa FULLDVD one?
Nope.
Yep. Took eight hours for me.Quote:

I've put in around nine hours with it so far and it's taking some time to get used to it. But then again so did 3 and I ended up thinking it was the best of the series.
I will say that this completely owns 3 in terms of presentation and graphics though.
The presentation is even more EA than 3 if you can imagine that.
How is that possible? Did they add more EA game billboards?
It's kinda hard to explain. The menu presentation just has that EA production feel on it (more so than 3). Best way to describe it is that it feels like you're navigating a Need for Speed menu, but when the game starts it's actually Burnout, so it's fun to play.
Some quick impressions after....5-6 hours of play.
Car designs are worlds better than 3.
I like how they dropped the icons from crashmode, but I'm not sure if I like the start meter that was added. Crash courses seem to take a long time to load too.
While pushing traffic has made the game really easy, it's unbelievably fun knocking the shit out of everything in sight.
Awesome track design. I love the choice of alternate routes and catching crazy air is the greatest.
The "shakey cam" effect after you hit a ramp in crashmode looks awesome.
Sound effects are the SHIT. This game is unreal with surround sound. I barely listened to the soundtrack but Custom Soundtracks are still the greatest option ever made.
The sense of speed is just NUTS.
That's my biggest complaint so far. You almost have to try to wreck into the actual traffic now.Quote:

I heard a few players discussing the demo version offered on Madden is supposedly BETTER than the retail edition in terms of graphics and gameplay. Anyone here with the demo able to comment whether or not there's truth to this claim?
And why don't I see you fuckers online? Send friend requests to "definit" if you aren't already on my list. That is all. ;)
so would you say the crash races are slower to load then Burnout3?
I hated the slow times in it
is it ANY BETTER?
I think I'd like a return to the older style myself, or give us an option for either style. The series has changed quite a bit since the beginning...still, I need to play further into Revenge to really see how I like the changes.Quote:

I'd say that's just people talking shit. Demo and retail are the same.Quote:

They've always done this (removing some features and focusing on others). You can always just turn on BO3 if you want that style of play.Quote:

p.s. The bass in this game in incredible. It gets me so fucking hard when a Crashbreaker goes off.
p.p.s. Rank 7, bitches.
That would be awesome. Although I have to admit that this is making a better first impression than BO3 first did since it gives you bonuses for never wrecking...which is really helping me fly up the ranks.Quote:

No way to kill rewind? That makes no sense, Crash Mode is all about instant action. If I remember right, they'd had the "feature" in Burnout 2, fixed it in 3, and now it's back?

You said that made the game 'broken', and I sagely corrected you that it made it 'intense'.
My eyes burn from playing this game. Holy shit is it autistic math capabilities fast.
Rank 9, 49%, just finished off completing chapter 5. Good god are there a lot of goals to run through, but at least now I'm getting to more Crashbreaker races.
Counting last night I've fallen through the road twice, and that's also the amount of times it's frozen on me. Thankfully neither has yet to happen during a grand prix but that combined with the incredibly glitchy takedown camera (which is a non-issue since it can be turned off and would be anyway in multiplayer) makes me wonder how rushed this was. The takedown camera in BOL works the same way as the one here, as it doesn't help you drive as much as it did in BO3 and removes total instead of partial control, but they're each buggy in their own way. Oddities abound.
Aside from those small (and surprisingly easy to ignore since one can be turned off and the other is very rare) technical issues this game is like brilliance pressed onto disc. So amazing.
Just stop procrastinating, log online and be prepared to get shunted, wrecked and to have your ego shattered indefinitely.Quote:

I suppose the X-Box version naturally is the best one to get for the graphics and online features?
The Xbox version is the one to get if you are heterosexual.
Alternately, you could just wait for March and the supposed Xbox 360 version. It's only a video game, what's the rush?
One guess as to what I'm doing up at almost 6AM...

The new courses are too good. TOO GOOD.
I like the mountain level best.

Played a good chunk yesterday. I'm up to Rank 8. I absolutely hate it that I can't skip the stupid rewinding part in Crash Mode. The start-up meter is dumb and extraneous (it's unclear at first how to great a perfect start, but I eventually figured it out). I also hate having to rapidly tap B to activate the Crashbreaker. Despite these complaints, I still like the mode.
