I was playing this online last night. One race there was an upper highway section and a lower. I was on the upper and thought I would try to launch onto the lower. Sure enough I flew across and landed in front of two of my opponent who both screamed "WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU COME FROM!?" It was glorious.
They thought it was damn awesome to see a car fly across the screen.

Burnout on Live has made me remember how catty high school chicks are. There are like 4 dudes, and 2 chicks, sounds like a party right? So this one chick is talking to Dude A, then the second chick gets all pissed off, I thought you were talking to me, etc etc. Fucking Brilliant.

I dunno, half the time when I talked it didn't seem like it went through. I was getting the flip side of that from other people, too; I'd hear everyone fine except for one guy, but they were obviously being heard by everyone else because whenever their mic icon lit up everyone would laugh or respond or whatever, while I'd just hear a series of pops and inaudible speech. Is there a setting I'm missing?

And I was on from like 8-12, dude. You cut out in the middle of the second race after I joined you.

I know somebody was there right when BO3 came out, but there was this one dude who called me out specifically, I think Gosh, Brand, Myk and maybe Opaque were there. The entire first race he was shit talking me, so I destroyed him every subsequent race.

I didn't get Bo3 until it was a Platinum Hit, so I'm still working on finishing that. And on top of that, I have over 200 games to my collection right now, so I think I'll be ok.

I picked it up yesterday at Fry's (37.99 till Thursday) and will be online sometime around Monday night, PM if you want to set up a specific time.

Couple gripes:

Is there no Rear View Mirror at all? I don't remember if 3 had that or not.

Is there a custom soundtrack option I'm missing? I didn't see it in the 5 page manual.

How is the online compared to the horrid BO3? They fix that or is this the Nth coming of an EA BF2 Level cluster fuck?

There is no Rearview mirror, there wasn't one in 3 either.

Custom sountrack: Go into the profile options, then select Ea Trax, then hit x to cycle through the cd's you've ripped to your xbox. There is no music in the crash mode, but I don't know if there is music in multiplayer (I haven't tried multi or Live yet). In previous games there was no music in splitscreen play.

No rearview is Teh Lose. There is little to no benifit to being ahead of someone in a race then, you're just going to be a target.

I'm getting the feeling it's always going to be better to be in 2nd place until the very end.

That's true because of traffic tossing... but a rearview wouldn't help you dodge that much anyway.

Personally it doesn't bug me but I know it sure as hell did you in BO3. I'd also like them to implement a couple more camera angles already, we've had the same two for five games now. I guess adding one that was third but slightly more raised up would be too much of an advantage for that anyone using that over first, but something would still be nice.

You should still be able to use the custom soundtrack option. BO3 never had a rear view mirror, only the ability to see who was behind you by press a button. The online integrity imo still seems a bit more stable, but occassionaly suffers from random dropouts (possibly from either crappy player connections or DREs). I'll look for you tonight after I get back from the movies.
