If you spawn near some one, well bad luck for you. If someone spawns near you, well good luck for you. Sounds balanced to me.

I haven't observed many problems with spawning in Halo 2. Sure, every once and awhile when its either just 1vs1 or there are 15 other players on the map, you'll spawn real close and get killed. But in Halo 1, especially on Sidewinder and BloodGultch, every other time you get spawned right next to the asshole with the tank and you eat it.
And as for the whole vehicles vs. person argument: Mark, my friend, you are so goddamn wrong. Grenades dont do damage to warthogs and ghosts? Are you serious? Boot up Halo 2 right now and make a multiplayer game. Throw a grenade next to a ghost and watch it blow up. Rockets don't track that well (unless you use that awesome glitch that Opaque showed me, but thats besides the point) and usually hit something else, unless the warthog/whatever is stationary or coming head on.
Also, the signle player campainge is much more improved. FUCK The Library. Thats the worst level in any FPS I've ever played.
I've played through the campaign numerous times, and I have decided that there are really only 3 good levels. Cairo Station rules, the whole entire city level including Outskirts and Metropolis, and the whole entire Delta Halo level including the part with the gondolas. The rest of the levels are just uninspired in my opinion.Quote:

Pistol basically dominates all things in 99% of the situations. Up close? I'd take the pistol. Midrange? I'll definitly take the pistol? Against some hypothetical sword user? Backpedal and pistol, a grenade or two would help. The only time pistol loses is at long range or by suprise (basically, being caught unawares). The pistol is overpowered. It's overpowered and I love it. People can use other weapons all they want. Good players can get kills with other weapons all the time but that doesn't mean those weapons are on level with the pistol, it means those guys are good.
Halo 2 has powerfull weapons but it lacks the uber-weapon that Halo 1 has. I don't care what anyone has to say, it's simply the same game approximately but without a true superforce to have to reckon with. The BR and the Carbine are the closest things to it and they don't come close to its dominating power.
do you see that as a good thing or a bad thing?
