im not really too excited about the games, even though there are some classics, mainly got it for the gene and CD (my gene died long ago)

anyone have any unknown good gene or CD games to reccomend ?

if anyone has any other relatively obscure good titles i'd appreciate it. ive played most every well known gene game so thats why im not asking for a 'best on system' list, just wondering if there are some under the radar games to pick up

My haul was a little light this week cuz my check was still on training pay (I just switched dept's), plus I paid of a credit card bill, had to buy anniversary presents and a few other things. but here goes:

Android Assault (Bari-Arm) - Side-scrolling shooter.
Lunar 1/2 - Not unknown, but get 'em, dammit. Best 16-bit RPGs by a long shot.
Final Fight CD - Excellent port.
Robo Aleste - Kick ass vertical-scrolling shooter.

The only thing, I picked up this week is Golden Sun for the GBA, although I also pre-ordered Medal of Honor: Frontline, and from the sounds of things I'm going to be cancelling my pre-order of Wrestlemania 18 for the GC. I'll probably use that money to put on Eternal Darkness instead.

There are a lot of good Sega CD games. Someone mentioned RoboAleste (I have the import), and it kicks ass. I'll throw in a few odd ones that you may want to check out:

1. Road Warrior (?) - you know, that Wolfteam title. It must look dated as hell, but I always thought it was pretty cool. Same goes for their helicopter game.

2. You guys are gonna think I'm nuts, but I loved Prizefighter on Sega CD. Yep, the Zito-riffic FMV boxing game. I would think it might be hard to track down, but grab it if you can (it HAS to be dirt cheap). This game plays incredibly smoothly for an FMV title, and watching the sweat fly when your FMV fist connects is still strangely satisfying.

you mean Road Avenger. Awesome game. It's a FMV cartoon game,in the same vein as Dragon's Lair, but it kicks major ass. If you like it, you can also get Cobra Command and Time Gal, both by Wolf Team.

Haha, I like that game as well. Being B&W, it comes off as a cheesy Raging Bull, but it's fun to play. Definitely one of the better FMV games.

Have you played:

- Dungeon Explorer. Kicks the TG16 version's ass all over the place.
- Dark Wizard. Excellent strategy game with great animated cut scenes and a godly soundtrack.
- Eye of the Beholder. Awesome RPG that can be played with the D pad! The SNES version makes you use those nasty directional crosses on the screen. This game rocks and has a great soundtrack too.
- Robo Aleste. Liked MUSHA? 'Nuff said.

There are many others too. My collection is at 44 games and growing. Great little system, that Sega CD. :)

There are a decent amount of great/good games for the Sega CD. The best part is for those hard to find/extremely expensive games, if you know someone that has them you can just copy them and play it right in your Sega CD without modification. Just make sure you get around to buying the game too.

I too enjoyed Prize Fighter on the Sega Cd. Other games using FMV and rather enjoyable are Tomcat Alley (Top Gun Parody), Timegal,Midnight Raiders and Star Wars 3d.

Other great Sega Cd titles include: The Terminator, Vay(RPG), Monkey Island, ThunderHawk(Core when they were good), Power Monger, Rise of the Dragon, and Battle Corps.

My haul of the week included Allstar Baseball 2002 $12(GC), and State of Emergency $15.

I seem to remember a Sega CD tank game whose name sounds like Robotrek. i saw it in Gamefan but it's been a long time since I read that issue (had Sega CD Lords of Thunder in it). *-neo

The only game I can think of that resembles that, is Battle Corps, by Core. I'm not sure if it had Mechs, or tanks. I had the game, and I do remember that you had a giant Mech, that shot at tanks, and other mechs.
