While I think you go a little overboard in saying it's worse than Super FX visuals, it is NOWHERE NEAR the quality of even N64's Rogue Squadron games. Ugh.Quote:

Surely the DS can do better than this. The 3D seems like it came from a launch PSone game. What's up with the explosions? They look like poorly drawn 2D cartoon art cut and pasted in.Quote:

Ditto, Steve.
I will add, even though it is pretty uneven at times, I too have great memories of playing Shadows of the Empire all night with my brother way back in summer '97 after we got our N64 (then the next month we got Mario Kart and Star Fox 64, sah-weeet).
It's not a great game but not a bad one either ya know? Loved all the different and nicely varied varied stages. Especially hunting down Boba Fett, a later level where you in an imperial hangar fighting AT-ATs with your pea shooter and the Hoth levels of course.
But the end space battle had terrible control and aiming. It was almost impossible to search out and kill an enemy ship you wanted because of an almost total lack of an aiming system.
Without a doubt....I still can't put those two down....but my reflexes aren't what they were in Kaboom back in the day :(Quote:

Not by much, they still look awful.Quote:

I guess it either can't handle them, or they don't have the time to implament those level of graphics and had to go a lesser route.
Was'nt Rouge Squadren an Expansion Pak game?
