I'm not sure if this is new news or not but the new Nitendo Power confirms Enlcave is being developed for the GCN. I wonder what kind of improvements will result from the hardware upgrade(boy was that a loaded statement or what). Cool.

Enclave looks hot. GameCube owners should enjoy it as well as the Xbox players.
Perrin - Enclave is a fantasy action game. Go to, umm, I think its www.starbreeze.com for details.

I wonder how far into development the Cube version is... Hrmmm...Quote:

I bet they'll release it on Xbox first, then the Cube rev a bit later, with extras.
Just a guess.

Nope. Still doesn't interest me. I don't bash games because they are on the 'box. I bash the 'box, because 90% of its games don't interest me.Quote:

Well, While its a great news for all Cube owners who dont have Xbox, I will wait for Xbox version, which will come out first, and I think will be better, as the game is being tailored to Xbox, and we all know that ports have quite a high percentage of chance to suck.
Very true. Lets hope they don't get all "EA Lazy" on us and at least put a little effort in getting it to run right on different hardware. I believe it should turn out fine though.Quote:

I've been waiting for more info on this title since the first screen was released. It looks amazing. But the version I get depends on the differences. But I do hope the Cube version is more appealing to me. ;)
From one of the developers on the official Enclave forum at teamxbox, with regard to accusations of the graphics being "watered down" on the Xbox from prior builds:Just thought I might throw that out there.Quote:
No, no and no.
The graphics (as you will definitely see) is not in the "watered down". This game would _not_ be possible to do with the same quality on any other console.

No, you bash it due to a lack of taste.Quote:

So...game comes out on GC first, and you'll wait for the PS2 or XBox rev because it will have extras, but OF COURSE the GC Enclave won't be better, or have extras...it'll just come out later, and with that extra dev time, will wind up being worse than the XBox version, right?
UHG!
heck, I remember developers saying that game A or B would not be possible on console such and such way before the XBox. And lo, when there's enough incentive (money), developers could make the impossible possible.
Umm, WTF kind of response is that?Quote:

A fairly explicit response, I thought. I can direct you to the actual post if you'd like.
And Hero, nobody ever said it was outright impossible. Just impossible at the same level of quality. There are so many other things more worth your time to get all worked up about.
Actually, I wasn't worked up over it
the comment just reminded me of how many times a company will turn the 'impossible' into possible if enough cash is thrown their way
If it was taken out of context ok, but I dunno didn't seem to make much sense the way it was worded there.
Starbreeze is a swedish company, so odds are English isn't his first language.
Erm, I didn't either, but mainly because of crappy camera. A roomie actually just played a bit earlier today, and finally gave up, frustrated, because the only way he could find to lure a boss into a weak area for it was also the area where you couldn't see where Dante was or what he was doing, making it kind of a crapshoot for actually trying to survive while dealing damage. That and bad cameras make moving in 3D extremely difficult, especially against flying enemies with crap-ass shadows to judge by.Quote:

Whine, Whine, Whine :)
Is it really that hard to learn your level environments, Boss movements and patterns, and how to position your character on the screen? I guess so, otherwise, it wouldnt be such a problem for him to play it.
Even when DJ who is 10 has no problem with camera in this game, and didnt complained once.
Ouch. I mean, I didn't care for DMC either really, but that's just going too far.Quote:

Back somewhat on topic, the Xbox version of Enclave is finished and should have trouble hitting its release date next month. And the newest screens look incredible. I'm hoping the GCN version will be identical to not create yet another stupid bitch war about my pen... console is bigger than yours. :p
The Team XBox quote was to calm XBox fans that felt that they game would be dumbed down for other systems. This has happened time and time again when a game suddenly got announced for PS2 & XBox rather than XBox exclusive. The graphic drop would be horrible. For instance, compare the screens for Wreckless on XBox to those of PS2. If you surf around a bit you should find them. Graphically it's a big difference.
It doesn't mean anything about how the game will turn out on the GC though.
Yes, but it serves equally well to address kbuchanan's "loaded statement."Quote:

Don't misunderstand; I hope it turns out well, but I wouldn't wait on the port.
Wreckless isn't a fair comparison. As far as I know, the port isn't being handled by the original developers, but rather a third party who doesn't know what they're doing. I'm usually eager to put down the PS2... but come on, it's obvious it can do much better than those screenshots. In fact, I think Crazy Taxi 3 looks even worse than Wreckless PS2, and that isn't technically a port.
I think we only have to worry about 'dumbing down' for a port when the porting is annouced early into the dev cycle. Enclave was already too far along in the Xbox version for that version to suffer from porting stupidity.
Dead to Rights on the other hand... let's just saying I'm expecting a lot of good gameplay to make up for the weak graphics I've been seeing for it.

I guess Obi wan for the x-box would have been good if i just ignored the crap graphics, repetitive gameplay and bad voice acting, but mech is entitled to say what he thinks on dmc. Besides, it still tries too hard to be "Cool", it got to the point i couldnt tell between dante and carson daley:jest:
Well, I never said that the camera flaw didnt exist. But what I'm syaing is that its not as bad as some people claim it to be, to the point to make the game totally unplayable. I'm not trying to change Mech's or anyone else opinion about this game, just bringin out my own point of view on the subject. I will still say, that with little bit of learning of environments and your character moves and positioning, the game is NOT that bad. Maybe the players are. Sometimes its easy to blame the game, for your own mistakes :)
Well, this arguing is useless, since I wont change your optinion, nor will you change mine, so we will stop at this :)
I know it's your opinion and all, but wait until we see the finished game in motion. And don't forget that CT 1 and 2 will also be in there.Quote:

I'm expecting insane lighting effects and particles galore for CT3. And I bet that it won't look as "muddy" as Wreckless.
I loved CT1 so I'm really hoping this is true, but the trailer for it on the OXM disc was just painful to watch. If it's not supposed to represent the finished version, then it shouldn't have been released.Quote:

I wouldn't be suprised to see a better framerate(ala the PS2's 60fps vs XBoxes 30fps on Malice) and better image quality. Oh, and uh, Mode, you really have some issues. You should probably take a vacation from your comp for a while. I think your taking things way too seriously. Go outside, find a girlfriend, play some sports. The politics of this industry shouldn't be so much of a concern to you. Just a thought.:)
