Goin' to Hawaii... (now with pictures)
Holy shit, did I luck out. A buddy of mine is a stockbroker, and every year the top 20 producers of his company are given a nice, all-expenses paid trip. Last year, it was to the Dominican Republic, but this year it's Maui, Hawaii. Originally, he was planning on bringing his girlfriend with him, but since they broke up 3 months ago, that ain't happening. So, he's like, "Hey, want to go on a free trip to Hawaii?"
Oh, hell yeah.
Best part is the trip costs me pratically nothing. Airfare, paid. Lodgings, paid. And it's the fucking Ritz Carlton of Kapalua, no less. A majority of the dinners are paid for by the company and breakfast is free at the hotel (and, given that it's the Ritz Carlton, I doubt it'll be a box of doughnuts and an urn of coffee).
In addition, many of the excursions we'll be taking will be covered by the company as well. So far we'll be taking hikes, a moutain bike tour down a volcano, some scuba diving (can't wait for that, the hotel has a scuba company that works directly for it), and we're trying to see if they'll foot the bill for a helicoptor tour of the islands.
Anyway, I'm leaving tomorrow and will return on the 28th. Not looking forward to the 11 1/2 hour flight (2 1/2 hours to Chicago, then 9 hours to Hawaii), but otherwise it should totally rock. I'll post pics for you kids when I get back.
