Game Rooms

Well Videodrone has a baby on the way and the room in which I have most of my gaming stuff is going to become...well...the baby's room.

Since my wife's not too keen with having a nursery filled with old system boxes, issues of Nintendo Power and Resident Evil promo items, it is now time to finish off a portion of the basement. I have a limited budget, but still what to create something stylish and functional. I have been looking for sites with cool game rooms for some time and havn't had much luck. I have been putting together a few item here and there from forums and the few sites I have found, but I not to sure if I found what I really want yet.

Has anybody else come across any sites with cool rooms or ideas?

Get a big tube TV, connect video game consoles to it, get comfortable seating, and voila.

I just got new sofas for my room--not very inspirational, but very comfortable :)

That poster was packaged with the original NES and has screenshots of such greats as The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros, Metroid, Tetris, and Hogan's Alley. Nothing's better :)

When I was digging up some old shit from my room I found an insert that used to come in old NES games, that had pictures of a lot of first party titles. Im thinking of packing it in with whoever buys some game from me (maybe Suikoden 2 heh). Its not worth anything I guess but is kinda cool.

As for me, when I hear "game room", I think pool + foosball.

Those people with their game rooms posted at Digital Press are all rich bastards. When you're making yours, don't compare it to theirs or you're gonna end up broke. Plus, you don't wanna look like this guy:

My room is up on DP and I am far from a rich bastard. I think it's more people who go thrifting a lot and never get rid of any games. Plus they have years invested in it, it's not like you can get a huge collection overnight.

My room's on DP too.

I plan to build a room behind the carport of my house, which we are going to turn into a family room. My new, permanent game room will be 15' x 15' and have built-in wall shelves. Everything will be tailor-made for gaming. :)

I personally find game rooms with a bunch of posters, figurines and boxes everywhere tacky. Some decent shelving units with drawers for controllers and older stuff, along with a nice HDTV and comfy sofa would be ideal.
