Read up, maybe you and Mr. Mtv Pubstar can go make some cash.
You know it's funny, the top pro's play only custom games set to MLG rule sets, and everyone I know plays MLG rule sets almost exculsively when we play customs. Yet never once, have I ever heard anyone mention the CPL, or it's gametypes, or rules, or anything like that. I remember now that StK started out doing a smaller "pro" circut before MLG came about, but then they, and everyone else with talent, jumped ship to the big time. I'm betting that CPL was what htey left.
So what have we established? The CPL is to MLG as Arena Football is to the NFL. You know, I think I'll stick with the Online MLG.
I can tell you right now what Unreal 2004 doesn't have that Halo 2 does, and that is the team dynamic and social aspect of playing Halo 2 that makes it so fun. I have never played 1 game of Unreal 2004 out of my hundreds I had logged that I had as much fun at as when me, chux, Mzo, Gosh, Cow, Mog (and whoever else I am forgetting) did playing Halo 2 on Turf the other night. There is no team dynamic in Unreal 2004, there is no social aspect in Unreal 2004, and despite what you believe that goes a long way in terms of fun and longevity when playing games. There really is no way you can tell me otherwise either. Unless you're playing with "l33t" players I can say that on average 2% (obviously a general figure I made up, and I'm sure if I didn't note of it, you would attempt to pick it apart to try and find inaccuracies) of people actually use the microphones when playing Unreal 2004 online. Otherwise you have the bullshit command line talking interface that every other PC game has had since Doom. You need to realize that playing videogames is about fun, and not about playing the games on what platform is the best. I'm not playing these games to be the best, I'm not playing these games for perfect controls, I'm playing these games to run Chux's white ass over with a Warthog.Quote:

It's not because of gameplay, it's not because of balance, it's because of fun, and that really is what Xbox Live provides. Until PC gets some sort of standardized manner to comminicate with friends, join games, and other such non sense PC online gaming will be a step behind consoles (which it never will because of the way PC gaming works, and Gamespy is just utter crap). I never though I would ever say that considering PC gaming has always been the pinicle of online gaming, but that just isn't the case anymore. And until these elitist PC gamers open their eyes and realize that Quake 3 didn't just come out, and Counterstrike isn't this worldwise phenominon like it used to be there will be threads like this, with pages more full of arguments just like this.
CHUX IS WHITE OMGWTF!
 Oh man. I retire from TNL for the day. Sorry for wasting all y'all's time.
" CPL is to MLG as Arena Football is to the NFL"
Backwards. And who the hell is StK? Look, I'm glad you have fun playing Halo 2. I would never think to stop you. But console shooters really are the JV circuit.
And how do you jump ship from something established to something no one has heard of in the quest to be the best player? That doesn't make sense.
Dear BrAnDX,
You put Mzo, Cow and Mog (three people who have barely played in the last five months) in your list but you didn't put me (someone who has played with you almost every day since forever)? I hate you. I fucking hate you.
Opaque.
I was actually directly referring to a specific game the other night, which you didn't happen to be in. But yes, Opaque is fun too. BUT I STILL DON'T WANT YOUR PITY TEAMS! :pQuote:

Keep up, it's not that hard.Quote:

Nice edit save. Just because people you roll with don't mention it, it means its a joke. Ok. That keeps in line with your usual thinking.Quote:
