I'm sorry, but what planet is this again? Cause on planet Earth, the vast majority of mods and maps do in fact suck. What do you expect? They're done by non-professionals who in their spare time tried to come up with something even professionals have a hard time doing: creating a worthwhile gaming experience.

Now this is the MAIN reason you're getting such resistance from the lot here. This type of elitist BS is not only speculative but totally misses the point of diffx's post. The PC has its obvious strenghts, and most definite weaknesses, in comparison to consoles. It has the potential to do more than consoles, but because of the format will never reach it. Consoles have a much better chance of reaching its fullest potential, which doesn't say that when it does it's now superior to the PC.

Just put away your pocket protectors; we're all gamers here. We'll game where the best games are, PC or console. No need to defend the PC so hard;

There will always be genres that play better on the PC than console. Its just that FPS isnt one of those anymore.

lol. What what what. Almost every game that can be modded is done better by "unprofessional" modders. From HL1 to COD to NWN to Civ 3. Superior content is found through mods.

Now, I'm not saying every mod and every map ever released is awesome. But the cream of the crop comes from fans. What makes it even better is that it doesnt cost a dime, and it stretches your gaming dollar.
