I dont care about these sorts of games and its not what I was referring to. Look, lets say you got a strategy game. 999 times out of 1000, it will be superior on the PC. Just because of the interface and what not. But take an FPS. Will it be superior on the PC? Eh, not necessarilly. For example, I think Doom 3 is a lot better on the Xbox just because of how they reworked some of the levels, and like I said, Halo 2 in multi easily stands up to anything that has come out on the PC in recent years.Quote:
I will believe this when Doom 4, HL3, UT, Farcry 2, etc etc are console first exclusives.
I have a quick question about these new maps, I just downloaded them and checked them out on my own - but I've noticed that they're not in the rotations for anything? Are they playable yet?
They won't be until either this or the following Monday. To play on the purchased maps, there will be a new matchmaking option called "Team Preview". Only those who purchased the maps can play in that option.Quote:

I stopped playing for many weeks during my free trial but now that I'm actually paying for it, I figured I ought to make the most of it and actually try to get better. Plus I finally got a headset/communicator and my coworkers have formed a clan called "Not Good Son" (which refers to us) that I'm a part of. Its been pretty fun.
I've noticed that at least I'm becoming more sharp in my movements and even aiming wise, I dont have my guy look all over the place while shooting, I can actually focus somewhat decently. I have noticed one thing however - the only time I can kill people with the spawn weapon (the machine gun) is when I get lucky and they're half-injured, or I dual wield two of them. Is dual wierdling that important in the online part of the game? (because I never used it in the campaign) and what are the best dual wield combinations off the tops of your heads. I tried experiementing with some combos but they never really worked out that well, like plasma pistol and machine gun, I'm guessing that a plasma rifle/machine gun would be better... any advice would be appreciated.
Look, I just gave you 4 or 5 PC FPS, and you dismissed them. You try to come back and give me ONE example, and then expect that to hold up your arguement.Quote:

To bring up Doom 3 is laffable too. It's only your opnion that it plays better. They had x amount of extra months to work on it. So you would hope there would be some minor improvements. If the two were released at the same time, then you would have a valid arguement. It's like me using GTA3 on the PC (superior) as an example of why the PC is superior for third person shooters. It's a rediculous example.
Yeah I paid the 5.99 for those 2 new ones, but there were also 2 new free maps...I'm not sure how long they've been there, maybe they've been there for months and I just noticed the "download content" option. So all 4 will have to wait for rotation status? I checked them out on my own, the Containment one with the operable gates is fucking nice, can't wait to do some stuff on that, not a great banshee map I'd say (but I also suck with these new banshees styles of movement). I've heard there's going to be tanks too!Quote:

A fully powered-up plasma pistol shot followed by machine gun fire is pretty effective. Two machine guns are ok, too, but it feels like the machine gun/pistol that I used so much in the past sucks balls now. The battle rifle is a lot better than I gave it credit for.
It's been my experience that the person who gets shot first usually dies... if someone finds you and starts shooting you first, you're usually dead.
