I still want to play Barbarians; I'll probably be a little more weary than usual. More than likely, it'll be a rental. i don't think Spider-Man is that bad; it has its issues, but I still enjoyed it.

WSB is the shit, graphics could have been better though. Plays well, but it seemed like the timing of some plays was a little off, i.e. runners being safe who should have been thrown out given the distance and all the other circumstances IRL. Still has far fewer "baseball smart" errors than the other baseball games out there. Oh, it does have the "black-hole glove" effect, where the ball sometimes gets pulled into a glove that doesn't look lined up to catch it. I felt this was excusable and not that big a deal(strangly in replay mode the ball always goes exactly into the glove :lol: ).

either one of the reviewers didn't play the game AT ALL & didn't even know how to play the game (which seems to be happening a LOT in egm)
or one reviewer is a test drive fanboy!
Or, more likely, THE TWO REVIEWERS HAVE DIFFERENT TASTES IN GAMES. Christ, you can look at this website (supposedly full of "hardcore" uber-gamers) and see wildly varying opinions on many different games.Quote:

God help us, not another "EGM sucks" debate....
I don't always agree with them, but EGM doesn't suck, because at least I almost always know where their reviews are coming from, and why they felt that way.
They don't trash games for being 2D, or for being shooters, for being "too Japanese" or basically for not having cutscenes, like clueless piece of shit rags like Game Informer do. Yes, their sad reviews make me angry.
EGM gave high marks to Mark of the Wolves, Mars Matrix, Skies of Arcadia and other generally hardcore titles. Do they go far more crazy than need be over mega titles like MGS? Yes. They're not perfect, and they're not Gamefan. But there isn't a more "hardcore" magazine out there anymore. Anyone who says Play...well, I'll leave you alone, you've got bigger problems:D
