Basically, we all are going to have to get an electronic federal ID card within the next few years, and the states get to pay for it. It wasn't really ever debated or studied in Congress, so it's probably about as viable as the Patriot Act.

Other countries already have things like this. The only problem that I have with it is that it is easier to steal 1 thing than 5 things, but then again, some people have stolen identities with 0 things, so...

There really isn't a whole lot we can do about shit like this. Write my congressman? Even if they do get millions of letters and emails, it isn't going to change a damn thing. So we dont re-elect them next term? So? Some other selfish asshole will take his place.
My thoughts on this, summed up in one word: Whatever.
I'm not going batty just yet. If they signed into law something requiring all of us to have barcodes in our eyes and cameras and microphones in every house then I'd be a bit worried.
