If it launches at $150 then Nintendo will make a killing. The other next gen systems have gone up in price since the last generation, and the choice between a $150 system and a $400 system is a pretty tempting one, assuming Nintendo manages to do with this what they've managed to do with the DS.
And if people want more powerful hardware at a premium price, the 360 and PS3 are there for you. Go nuts. There's no way Nintendo could ever compete on that front so they're making a cheap and different system instead (and I'm not going to argue "well maybe the architecture will make up for the specs and it'll look as good as the 360" because that ain't gonna happen). This is a good thing for gaming... instead of having three companies all trying to appeal to the exact same people we have some diversity in what's out there.
Dev kits, though, mean little in the end. If you think it will be cheaper to make a Revolution game than a GBA game you are crazy.Quote:

Agreed. Alternatives are always good to have. We'll have two standard systens and one product specifically made for more unique content. It kind of reminds me of the WWF and WCW war with ECW as the alternative promotion.Quote:

And yes, most of those third-party games sucked, but it didn't really matter, because Nintendo has, does, and always will make the best games.
False.Quote:

The DS is what the Gamecube should have been. It's almost sad.
The unstated and very questionable premise in your argument is that you have a reliable concept of taste.Quote:

Irrelevant. Gamecube wasn't competing with other Nintendo systems.
