Well, sophisticated implies that all the new innovations and what not are being applied well and work well together. Complicated implies that they don't.

Saying that games would work better with only 2 buttons may be true for a lot of games out there, but if you wanted to play a FPS where thats all you have to input, well that would just plain suck. The thing about the Wii-mote is that it allows for pretty much infinite different types of input while still offering the opportunity to be intuitive. We'll see if developers apply it well or not...

$5.00 to play Bonk or Adventure Island. That's fine by me if I own the Virtual game to play as long as I own a Wii.
In that regard I have to ask what kind of storage is used for the Virtual Console? Surely the game can't be gone when the system is turned off.

$5 for an NES game sounds good to me. It'll take something major to make me go over that amount, though.

well if you looked through this thread or any website that has info on the Wii you would see that it has 512 megs of flash memory built in to store things like a VC game or your game saves. The system also has SD card ports so you can buy a nice 1 or 2 gig SD card to save VC games or game saves to. The system also has 2 USB 2.0 ports on it which in theory should mean it can support external hard drives but theres no official word from Nintendo on that.

I take it you really haven't read much of anything about the Wii have you?

Iwata confirmed that the DS will act as a touch-screen controller for the Wii. Pokemon Battle Revolution will probably be the first Wii game to use this functionality.

It'd be awesome if a peripheral were released that'd allow you to transfer Virtual Console games to your DS for portable play. Fully functional SNES games on the go?

And if said games had some sort of online wi-fi... I don't think I'd use ZBattle again.

The DS already has this. It's called the GBA slot.

Could anyone tell if the Pokemon trailer was gameplay footage or not? I know there was a menu being "used" in it, but there was also a menu in the FFXIII trailer, which wasn't gameplay footage.

If it is real footage, it looks nice. I don't want another Stadium game, though. Stupid Nintendo.
