The Wii didn't really cost much in terms of R&D, with most of the focus being on setting up the VC and internet systems. This sounds exactly like what caused Sega to fail. Too much shit out. Everyone who bought a Wii would feel like they bought a system with only 1/2 a generation behind it. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Wii. From my own personal experience the non-gamer friends I have seem genuinely intrigued by its more social style gaming. I personally want a Smash Bros and the new Mario Galaxy. Zelda looks fun but I don't think the new Wii remote makes much of a difference in its gameplay. Red Steel looks kind of fun.

As with everything I'm waiting for word of mouth and reviews and recommendations from friends and the internet before jumping on it.
