Official Nintendo Wii thread

I suppose, but the Wii will still be in a different category. The thing is, you're right. One or the other would probably have to fail, the wii or it's too-soon predecessor.

Still and all, if the Wii does decently and Nintendo rakes in profits from that and the DS they would be well positioned for the next gen.

I just don't know where else there is for Nintendo to go, since they are all about making money on the cheap with sequels and re-releases, and the Wii is the ultimate re-release system. The next system they'll have to either create an actual competitor or fade away into the handheld market.

Yeah, it is a quick cash job for the emulated stuff, but whatevs. It's my dirty capitalist blood that makes me want to own things legally. Wasn't it said that Nintendo is encouraging companies to make games exclusively for inexpensive download? That and i remember reading something about Nintendo wanting individuals and smaller companies developing for the thing. Seeing new NES and SNES games is something that would make me ~ *^_____^* ~

VC is not the same thing as XBLA. Or were you talking about the "smaller companies developing" thing?

I was going to go out there today, but slept all day instead. Maybe Thursday if they're still taking pre-orders.

Except the 360 actually launched with new games to download, all we know of the Wii's new games is Nintendo has some wistful desire for them. People keep bringing it up but I don't know why.
