I thought it was great seeing people previously uninterested in video games enjoying Wii Sports. The generation that told us Pac-Man was the devil back in the day ended up playing in this medium after all.

I may have actually bought a Wii during its active lifetime if it had started out with the motion plus controller.
The early games all had wonky controls.
Looks good.

So, does this have the bullshit waggle control, or can I play it like a real video game? I planned to get the GC version because fuck waggle, but if this one has the option, I'd like to check it out.

No waggle. Game Pad or Pro Controller. The Game Pad shortcuts sound amazing.
I preordered this. I really want to play it again.
The Amiibo stuff is lame, but at least it's entirely unnecessary.
The hero mode setting available at the start sounds appealing. It's too bad the game is so damn long or else I would be more interested in replaying it.
Wolf Link slyly commands you to gaze upon the Amiibo logo.
Zelda basks in its light.
I was just listening to IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat talk about this, and they were fairly harsh on the price and effort combination. They said it's not as well done as the Uncharted collection and yet is a full priced, single game, albeit with an Amiibo included. Apparently it highlights a lot of the original release's flaws. People shouldn't be expecting the N64 to 3DS level of effort Nintendo has demonstrated.
That's surprising considering how much effort went into Wind Waker HD. Bummer.
They talked about that a little bit. It may have been less about effort in that one and more about the art style that made it more timeless.
I think Twilight Princess is maybe a better game than Wind Waker... it doesn't do a whole lot to break the mold but it is a huge game, maybe too huge, with lots of good stuff.
Anyway I just want the game in HD with game pad control.
Only a few more days until The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is released in the West, with some great retrospective videos from Nintendo leading up to it:
I didn't like how the warp system made it largely unnecessary to traverse the overworld before I had much opportunity to explore it, but other than that, it was great.
I found the little details like being able to pick up the cats and run around with them really endearing.
Of course, nothing beats the farting pig on WW's Windfall Island.
