Dave Mirra...XXX? Tell me this is a joke...

Nudity in games- Install Giants on your PC. It's a great game, it deserves better than it got. Take the file arpfix.gzp and dump it in the trash can. Ta-da! Topless Delphi. And does it cheapen the game? No, it actually works well with her character design, a lot better than that stupid bra-thing they dumped on her a few days before the game went gold did.

However, this is a different game entirely, so I'm not really sure that example actually fits. Just letting you know it's been done, and done right.

I was really close to getting this year's Dave Mirra. I don't much go for the Tony Hawk style of gaming, but for reasons unknown I had fun with it. I figured I'd buy next year's model, and now they're springing this on me. Do I still plan on getting it? Depends on the reviews, same as it did before I read this article. What the hell, it won't be the first time I've been pandered to with nudity. As for the off humor, if they can pull a Conker I'm all for it. If not, it'll just hurt the game.

Doubt it? Don't be so quick to dismiss the power of nudity. I think if there is enough of it you will see this one go way beyond million seller. How many people do you know who bought GTA3 because it was a good game? I'm sure any real gamer did but I bet more then half(probably way more) bought it because of the adult oriented stuff.

For one thing, since GTA3, I think that the 18+ policy must be enforced more strictly, especially games that have nudity more than violence. Then we take the million seller status of Tony Hawk and cut out the younger audience, and you get a more focused target consumer group. Besides Tony Hawk, not many other "extreme" sports games have been a big hit. They've sold decently, but nothing beyond THPS success.

PS: People bought GTA3 because it let you steal cars, an intriguing idea. It didn't sell based on nudity. I doubt people bought GTA3 just to see the hookers in action. This BMX XXX game has very little to offer, maybe if you could steal other people's bikes on the other hand...

How do you know people bought GTA3 because it let you steal cars? Why would you doubt people bought it to see the hookers in action? My son is in 6th grade and all I ever hear his friends talk about(yes, his friends because I won't let him play GTA3) is the hookers,beating people up, and all of the cursing you hear when you drive into a crowd. I never heard one of them say anything about stealing cars. For me it was the whole live out the Goodfellas thing. I didn't buy it until I could try it though because I wanted a good game. I think the whole cursing/nudity thing in DM3 could send it over the top of the TH franchise. I think it's sad but most adults who play will get it to see what's been done and most teens will get their hands on it one way or the other. I personally don't think it needed it because like I said before, I think it was better then TH3 already.

Am I blind? What nudity in GTA3? In fact, if anyone could, would you please list every game you can think of that's had nudity in it? Only restriction- I could buy it at EB, Software Etc, Best Buy, Circuit City, or somewhere else like that. Also, NES era and up only.

Pet peeve- People keep talking about wanting to limit access to sexually or violently explicit games, But I Have Yet To See The Sex! One game, with a rocking car, does not count. Didn't someone post that if you use the first-person mode you can see them just sitting there? Admitted, there's no question as to exactly what's happening, they just didn't bother to show it beyond a squeaky set of springs on a rocking car.

Well this completes the trio of shit. This, DoA volleyball, and a car combat wrestling game. What a joke. Ah well, it'll be fun to see where all this nonsense leads before in blows up in thier faces and all gamers are forced to feel the backlash from even angrier parents and politicians.

I wonder if there will be any MALE nudity in the game.

I think this is such a backwards thing in our society. The media has so much trouble showing nudity and whatnot, something NATURAL, but when it comes to violence, you can see it in mass. Watch a movie on TV and most of the violence will be intact, but they won't even show an ass. Personally, I think this is VERY backwards.

You also need to factor all those people who purchased the game because they believed that it would be banned.

When I worked at funco, this girl walked and picked up a copy of the game and told us she only bought it because she thought it was being taken off the shelves, and that she did not even own a PS2.

After she left we all look at each other, dumb founded.
