Kingda Ka

This past Thursday, Great Adventure yelled out a great big "Suck it!" to Cedar Point with the opening of Kingda Ka

Kingda Ka is part of the new Golden Kingdom (they got tigers!) expansion that's located near Rolling Thunder and Viper (which is being removed this season).

456 feet high (world record), 270 degree vertical spiral on the way down followed by a 125 foot camel hump. 3,118 feet of track in about 50 seconds.

I guess i'm gonna play rollercoaster tycoon 3 now... I've made that style of coaster before but the "peeps" are too afraid to get on it.

I just don't like the pure-speed rollercoasters. What happened to the steel suspension loops and insane twists? That's far more enjoyable to me than a few extra G's from a steep drop and all that launch-only crap. Simply not as enjoyable to me.

Hot damn that thing is fast, but I'd rather it be longer and more interesting. It's like the drag racing of roller coasters. Really nice of them to have a POV video of it.

Roller coasters (and rides in general) are just no fun to me. Watching that almost makes me puke.

I'm still traumatized from the DÉJÀ VU ride, but I could go for something like this. Any other location set to get this some time? Oh goodie, here's what's new in 2005 for us here in Illinois, "WATER PARK FUN FOR EVERYONE".

The drop like this one looks like it would scare the hell out of me but it's probably the shortest roller coaster I've ever seen. The guy in the video screams like a bitch too.

Its not a whole rollercoaster...fuck these small ass sections.

You'd prolly like SheiKra more (no audio to this vid). Just opened in Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. First drop is 200 feet and what you don't see is the splash down pool (you can see a plume of water at one point, but it's quick in the video).

The original (Top Thrill Dragster) is at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. 30 feet shorter, a little slower and no second air hill.

The new rumor for Great Adventure is saying a wooden coaster for 2006.
