The official word is now 'within two weeks.' That is, the word given at E3 from Pete Hines, whoever that is. I'm too tired to find out. :p

Pete Hines is Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks. Good news, 'cause I'm jonesing like crazy for some Elder Scrolls action.

"Since the Xbox and PC versions are alike, the Xbox had no chance in shipping at the same time as the PC. The PC version goes directly to shelves as soon as it goes GOLD and is duplicated. Unlike the Xbox version, which goes to MS for "certification". MS tests it for various things like crashes, load times, menus, controls, etc. If they dont like something about it, it "fails" and they make recommendations to allow it to pass. NO GAME has ever passed the first trial, and Morrowind didnt break that trend. So, until MS is happy with the product, and they pass it, there is no way to tell when it will ship. All we can do it wait and listenfor word from MS. This thing doesnt happen overnight either. I cant blame MS though, since it IS their console and they cant certify a game that has problems and will make their console look bad. It's all part of the gaming business and corporate politics. But, since GamePen and other sources say they got good news from E3, it obviously passed."
I really, really hope so. We may actually see it by the 4th or 5th if this is true.

I'm anxiously awaiting this game.
Unfortunately I leave for vacation on June 10th, so if it does come out the 5th, that only gives me a few days to play it until I get back. Oh well, vacation should be just as much fun. :D
So, what the hell is the word on this? I bought the PC version, but I still want to play it on my BOX.
I put in a reservation for it at EB, and they said "June fifth."
Then I checked the Morrowind site for details on it going gold, only to find none...
Any truth to that release date?
Well I was talking to the manager at EB, whom I've been friends with for a long time, and he told me that it will be in store this week, probably by thursday. Now thats in Canada so you guys might get it a day or two earlier. Said he got an email telling him that it had finally passed the QA and was sent to get mass produced.

I've got the day off then, so I REALLY hope it doesn't get delayed again.

On one hand I dont like PC style rpgs, but on the other the impressions of this game sounds so good :)
Well, you've said before you don't like PC-style RPGs, and this is very much a PC-style RPG. I'd recommend renting it (or at least buying it at EB where you can exchange it before 10 days) so you don't end up with a game you don't enjoy.
Well, I guess I will try to rent it first. Hopefully, one of the stores near me will actually get it for rent. Otherwise, I will read more of the impressions here, and look for a good deal.
