Like 99.9% of Sikhs are Indo-Aryan. Their historical problems stemmed from the fact that the mughals and brahmins were jerks, not because they lacked a racial identity - they were getting most of their grief from fellow indian muslims and hindus. The fact that they were expansionist and just as militant as either group meant that they weren't tolerated like jains and buddhists (usually) were.
But since I can't actually make out the guy's face or anything in the avatar that wasn't really my point. It was that sikh turbans and beard styles are distinctive and quite different from arab (or middle eastern, if we're being anal) head dress, and they're what that dude is sporting.
