Ninja Gaiden 2 Not Headed for 360?

As for those who felt Ninja Gaiden on Xbox was too difficult, be afraid. The difficulty won't likely be lessened for the sequel. However, when asked if NG 2's difficulty would equal that of the ridiculously tough Ninja Gaiden: Hurricane Pack, Itagaki said that Hurricane Pack could be made so difficult because it was free. Well, we thought it was funny.

We'll continue to investigate the final platform destination for Ninja Gaiden 2. Our guess is that it's still Xbox 360, but we wouldn't be shocked if it ended up being PS3 or Revolution.

I saw that this weekend. I know Itagaki has previously talked smack about only developing "for the most powerful system," thus fueling the ongoing (and stupid) debates over the relative power of next-gen systems. It doesn't bother me if NG2 comes to PS3, but I have to believe that MS will try very to hard to secure some exclusive Team Ninja titles. Maybe MS will have to settle for a timed exclusive.

So, Itagaki confirms a superficial fighter with 5 year-old gameplay for the 360, but their only decent title is up in the air?

Sounds like he knows which game more people want to play.

I've become an avid Itagaki fanboy, so odds are where he moves, I'll want some Team Ninja and buy that console first. Unless something else pops up.

Actually, neither title is confirmed for the Xbox 360.

Itagaki needs to stop with the DOAs and concentrate more on dudes who flip out with swords. The world definitely needs more of that.

If you've noticed, the last several games or mentions from Itagaki were all updates, rehashes, ports or remakes. DOA 2, DOA2Hardcore, DOAUltimate, Ninja Gaiden's Hurricane Packs 1&2, Ninja Gaiden Black. Not one, save Ninja Gaiden is really a new game at all. Still fun, though.

Well some of us dont want to drop $750 or $850 on hunks of plastic and silicon that dont do anything without $50+ games. After all, that $850 can turn into a few thousand with the proper investments. ^__^

If I drop the money on a system I just wanna make sure I get my money's worth. I think I got it out of Xbox and PS2, but not out of GBA (and wouldnt have if I got a GC).

Itagaki wants the japanese audience to experience NG, so it will most probably be developed for the PS3 since the xbox sold like crap in japan! i have to admit i hate his arrogance and personality, but for once i agree on something he's doing(though it hasnt been confirmed yet)

If you read earlier interviews, you'd know Itagaki has a very low opinion of Japanese gamers so I doubt he really cares whether they get to play Ninja Gaiden or not. If he was so concerned about letting his fellow Japanese play he'd developing a PS2 version of Ninja Gaiden Black.

If it NG2 goes to PS3 it will be because Sony has the more powerful system not because Itagaki cares about letting more Japanese people play the game. Especially since they wouldn't buy it anyway.

And FYI, the original NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy also sold like shit in Japan, but did quite well over here.

As for his personality, the reason so many people gravitate towards this man is because he talks shit and backs it up. He calls bullshit where there is bullshit and doesn't give a fuck who says what. A refreshing change from the usual Japanese PR bullshit. He called Tekken 4 a piece of shit (truth), said western games tend to have overly stiff animation (truth), and said Death by Degrees wasn't even worth talking about (truth). The man simply tells it like it is.

I'd have to comment by saying japan was pretty damn stupid when they continued to ignore xbox after NG was out. Bad move for Itagaki, worse for gamers due to their own arrogance towards US based systems.

Now if PS3 really is the better hardware for this generation, Itagaki's need for horsepower + sales won't be a problem.

It's been confirmed by OXM UK that Ninja Gaiden 2 is in development for the Xbox 360.

I guess it makes sense, too. I mean, come on, they're making XBV2 for the Xbox 360 as well.
