Wow, gonna be seeing a lot of damage control out of this one.
"We never designed the original playstations as gaming machines."
"This machine is not for children."
Who lets this guy out to talk to the media?
It worked for the PSX, so it's gotta work for the PS3, right?Quote:
Ken Kutaragi, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, is portraying the PlayStation 3 as an all-around entertainment and media machine that will not only play games, but will also store and play back video. In a series of two interviews with Impress PC Watch, Kutaragi revealed that the PlayStation 3 will become an "entertainment supercomputer" for the home.
Yea, I mean, these are the same exact things he said about PS2 and they ended up being spectacular lies then. I guess we'll have to see what happens.Quote:

I think Microsoft's plan for 360 is very game-oriented. Hooking up an iPod to the 360 will allow you to use it to play songs in-game, and XBL2 should be spectacular, and Marc Ecko shirt downloads, and so forth. I doubt Microsoft really wants to get into the whole "360=Media Center" thing, because they sell Windows XP Media Center. Yea it got some extra features but its primarily a game machine.Quote:

Unfortunately, Sony's shit strategy will work, because third parties will still flock to the PS3. Thus, five years from now, we get to hear what a success this was and how the PS3 was just a step toward having a Sony brainwashing machine that also happens to play games in everyone's entertainment cabinet.

Just like the PSP's square button was meant to be defective.
Didn't Allard just get done telling VelocityGirl and BeatBuilder that Xbox 360 will reach a billion users by selling in-game t-shirts? Because that sounded awesome.Quote:

I maintain that the Xbox 360 is a game machine first and foremost. It may be a trojan horse to get Microsoft's other products in your living room, and its definitely a way to get people (a billion people, even) to give money to MS, but thats business.
Then you better root for Microsoft.Quote:
