At no point did Zucker rule out providing support for Xbox 360 further down the line - and indeed, Midway has been largely platform-agnostic in the current generation, generally keeping the bulk of its product multi-platform.

The firm, which posted its first profitable quarter in four years in Q4 and grew its full year revenue by around 75 per cent, remains bullish on the prospects for its full year performance.

Zucker reiterated the firm's target of $225 million in revenue for the current year, and stated that his aim is to make the company, which was recently bought out by Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone, into a top five ranked publisher.

"If you go back and look at Activision and Take-Two," he commented, "their revenue was the same as ours is today, and they both were able to grow their revenue base very rapidly and successfully to critical mass. Why? They were making quality games, and they were making the right games. And that's our plan."

I'm stunned that a company who published games for the PS1 and PS2 would publish for the PS3.

...ok so Midway will make games for 360 just not a launch game because they can't maximize the system in time??

Theres a difference. See, Nintendo fans claim that every third party is a wellspring of virtue and goodness as long as they are supporting Nintendo's stupid platform. Once they stop, they are the source of all evil.

Midway has always sucked. I wouldnt say theyre worse than Sega, but theyre definitely lower-tier. The only game I can think of that I liked from them is NHL Hitz, though the new Gauntlet might turn out okay.

They're not pulling support. They're just saying they won't have anything ready for 360 launch.

I will be REALLY surprised if they don't still put most, if not all, of their games out multiplatform. Their (and most 3rd parties') stuff sells almost as well on Xbox as it does on PS2, and that's with Xbox behind the competition by tens of millions of units. The rift won't be nearly so large next gen, in fact 360 will have a lead for at least a handful of months after PS3 launches by default. Midway's far too profit-minded to deny putting games on the 360.

the new blitz and gauntle t games, as well as their arcade treasures, keep me liking them. They've released a few games lately too that if you get them at $20, you feel like it was worth it.
