I've been told recently that "hanging out" with a girl has replaced "dating a girl", as dating implies a more serious commitment where there's probably some sort of sexual activity involved now. Girls probably started that. They have more issues with each other having sex than guys do. dating and hanging out with doesn't set in stone that they are fucking. I can go on dates with girls and not be dating them. Usually I assume that when you say you are dating somebody that you are consistently hanging out with them in preperation for what may or may not turn into a serious girlfriend type relationship. Sex really has no play in it, cause that can come in at any time and is often able to exist outside of a relationship experience entirely, which I classify "dating" as.
Gozen has news to believe. You're dating for a little while, then if it continues you've got yourself a girlfriend.
