What Is 'Dating'?

Please keep in mind when you're responding, I know the difference between being close to someone and not being close. That isn't the question. All my exes are in Texas, and there's a lot of them at this point.

The question is "What does dating mean to you?" The options I put above are kind of like the 3 different stages for most people; I'm trying to find out which stage people label "dating."

I appreciate people's desire to help, but that's not what I'm looking for. Mman's is the closest without going over.

I've went out with girls as friends and they describe it to other people as a date. I've had my share of intimate encounters with girls but it rarely got to the point where she became my girlfriend.

When it comes to how women feel towards me, I'm completely oblivious. I just go along with whatever is happening at the moment.

Dating is sex with the pretense of paying attention. #1 is what wimps do because they can't get laid. #2 is dating. #3 is the same as #1, really, except that #1 may be a bit less personal.

I think 'Dating' implies exclusivity. A series of dates. Otherwise your are just hanging out or going on dates. It's kind of that wierd time right after you meet someone, but aren't bold enough to call him/her your gf/bf.

Q1- when people see you, do they say "where's ________(name of girl here)?"
Q2- are friday/saturdays spent hanging out implied, or do you have to ask?
Q3- 2 or more calls a day?
