I afforded one, but I still don't play it, even with the homebrew stuff. But that's mostly because I don't have any place I need to use it at besides on long trips. I'm not complaining though, because the next car trip or flight I go on, my PSP will be in my hands ready to play, and just for that I know it was worth the purchase.Quote:

Man, the 2d is just godly on the PSP. The more 2d goodness the better. Now I just hope this is good (it was developed by Falcom, and not Bandai, thankfully, which is a good sign).

True that. If PSP was a 2D devoted system, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. If Konami developed a 2D Castlevania for the system, I'd probably have to buy it. This and Twelve both look great, visually.Quote:

I never understood the whole 2D-3D divide.
Is it because 2D games are all retro and niche and cool because the masses can not appriciate them, whereas 3D games are generally generic piles of tripe?
Whatever. The fact that Sony is actually allowing developers to do 2D games freely on the PSP is nice to know (and what's been seen so far looks great), and Falcom developing on a current-generation system (unedited, the PS2 Ys game doesn't count) is... odd.
Why was not any of this announced at E3? Did it get all lost in the face of other happenings? (Except there wasn't anything happening!)

Quit being a prick. 2D is appealing anywhere because it's not common and typically delivers gameplay that's different from 3D games. The GBA has had some amazing 2D games that play differently than anything on consoles. Neither 2D nor 3D is inherently better than the other (though they fit certain genres better), but it's nice to have a source of 2D games.Quote:

The 2D games Ive played on GBA have not been as good as the 2D games from the 16-bit era. I think nowadays 2D primarily sells on novelty, and people are willing to accept lesser games because its 2D.
