Whenever I try to rip a CD on my computer I get the message "Your CDROM isn't capable of digital ripping". I'm using a 16x CD burner, the computer is 5 years old tops, why wouldn't I be able to rip off of it? Is there some sort of driver problem, does the software just suck (I'm using the creative mediasource software that came with my zen touch).

There's no reason you shouldn't be able to... that being said, fuck Creative's software. Use something else.
I love my Zen Xtra, but the software sucks nuts, so I don't use it.
If I remember correctly, in Windows 98 (which I'm assuming is what you're using on a 5 year old system) go under Control Panel---->Device manager and click on your burner. There should be an option for "Enable digital CD Audio" Or something like that. Check it, then see if you can use digital ripping.
Gohan: I'm on WinME, enabled digital CD audio and still get the "This CDROM does not support digital ripping. Try using the recording function" message.
