I can relate(five games to be listed someday). I have sold off and handed out about a hundred games in a year or so to keep my collection slim. The only game I really regret selling is Vagrant Story but I don't have the means to play it at the moment. Giving away free stuff to people that appreciate it and don't act like cunts is pretty rewarding too.

Slimming down your collection is a good thing. The remaining games get the attention they often need to be enjoyed fully and if you miss something then you can allways get it back without losing to much.

I'd gladly drop you a few bucks for Final Fantasy Anthology(PS), Grandia(PS), Kessen(PS2), Kirby's Dream Land(GB), Mortal Kombat(GB), Sonic Spinball(GEN), Panzer Dragoon(SAT), Daytona USA(SAT), and maybe even Final Fantasy II(SNES)?

Name your price for the ones not already taken/ones you're putting on eBay.

I'm definately with you on this. I have way more games than I'll ever need. I guess the difference is that I like most of mine, so I just don't know where to start getting rid of some of them. I was actually going to start a 'thinning your collection' thread.

If you're seriously thinking of selling anything with a 5.0 or lower, then say so. Because I will buy.

For games of this generation, find a FYE and trade them in, they give really good credit (assuming the discs are relatively scratch free and that they take them, based on the salesperson's discretion). I got $150 credit for a bunch of really crappy titles, if I traded them in at EB, I would be lucky to get $40 at most.

For the older titles, just sell them cheap online or give them away, that's what I did.

I ditch just about everything eventually once I've played through it. Whenever I buy a new system it usually involves trading in my old games so I don't actually end up paying for it.

Some stuff seems hard to part with, but once it's gone I usually forget I ever owned it. If I really want something, I can always go back and buy it again or emulate it, but that rarely, if ever, happens. Plus, there's this store near me that gives me like $20 cash for games EB gives $5 trade-in for.

There are a few things I've hung onto over the years - TG-16 stuff, a couple of random titles I don't want to part with, but by and large I move it out while it still has value.

I like to keep my stuff, but I get rid of the real shit I'll never play again. Like Madden '99, but not SNES NHL'94.

Or, say, Star Wars Starfighter, but not Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.

But yeah, if I had shit like Space Channel 5 or MK GB I'd totally sell it.

mostly overbought in the current gen era, traded most of my games away (EB, Gstop) got a PSP and a coupla games, i imagine i got a shit deal, but really it was nice to get rid of all the clutter, i kept a bunch that i had beaten and enjoyed. oddly keeping most of my Gcube stuff, and earlier Xbox releases. (ps2/ Xbox got me most of my shovelware though.)

You might be able to recoup some of your money if you do donate the games to charity. I don't know how it works where you are but you might be able to claim it on your taxes. Just something to think about. Look into it first, obviously, don't be takin my word for it. But I do know that governments like to encourage donating to charity.

As for me, I dont keep games very long. I buy it, play it and finish it, and only keep it as long as I'm interested in it. Then I'll sell it to get something else cheaper.
