ECCX Results

Edit: The general way it worked was, there were pools of players, and you had to go through a tournament with your pool of players in order to qualify for the top spots. Whats left in the results is the top spots. I think around 70ish people entered for each of the big games.

Because he is the Chosen One? *shrug*

I dunno, probably just because he's plays a lot (see: hardcore). In the past, Eddie Lee was considered one of East Coast's best -- then the limelight was shared by players like Arturo Sanchez, Sanford Kelly, and Ricky Ortiz (yes, I know he's originally from West Coast origin). Even when he doesn't play regularly, he always stuck to the bread-n-butter tactics, exploiting the broken mechanics/subtle nuances of whatever game he was exposed to. Naturally, a lot of what he does too would be considered "cheap" by casual players (like the ones here who've been bitter about their online matches in Street Fighter Anniversary Collection -- Third Strike, Hyper Fighting), but in the end -- Justin is a great player simply because he's consistent with his execution and his concentration skills are solid.

Also, justin is awesome because he is the most boring player ever. I refuse to watch any of his matches in any game.

Wait, how did Wong not get first in MvC2? I haven't been keeping up with the scene for about a year or two, but last I heard he'd never not gotten first in an MvC2 tournament.

Sanford is Justin's close friend and they play together a lot. Basically, Justin's been considered untouchable as the reigning champ of every major tournament of the last three years, but he said it himself that it was only a matter of time before Sanford beat him. But yes, it's a huge upset and will probably go a long ways toward revitalizing the MvC2 scene -- until Justin wins Evo again, of course.

This guy is at a lot of tourneys to record the matches, but since ECCX just happened the vids aren't going to be up for a while. Also, top 16 vids won't be hosted on the site since they're going to be sold on the DVD.
