When did this start? I thought Christians were the ones who wanted to destroy objective non religious concepts of right and wonrg.

It's a book that incites revolution against the status quo. No different in that regard from The Communist Manifesto. Besides, it was written by a bunch of self-described liberals who saw a great injustice being carried out against the people and wanted to enact change. They knew the Articles of Confederation would not keep the new US together, and wanted to see their crazy little thing called the 'Constitution' take over. I can't think of anything more fitting to be on a conservative literary hitlist. Especially considering that Madison and Jefferson later went on to support The French Revolution, and we all know that supporting the French is a cardinal sin.

When you add all that up, I'm surprised The Federalist Papers didn't make it to the top of the list.

I've never read the Bible. The only time I ever even touched one was in eighth grade, when my school took my class to Washington D.C. and the hotel had a Bible in the night table's drawer. I took it out and wrote things like "PENIS" and "GOD LOVES DICK" on several pages and then put it back.

The Bible is a great book, in many different ways. Put away the Im-too-cool-for-the-Bible attitude and read it, even if youre non-Christian. It is also the most important book in Western civilization, like it or not.

It's not that I'm too cool for the Bible or something, I just have no interest in reading it. The penis thing was to illustrate how wonderfully mature I was in eighth grade.

Truth. I believe that being a Christian is totally gay, but the Bible is the greatest and most influential work in Western civilization.

subjectively, yes, it probably the most important book in Western civilization. Objectively, it probably only the most influential.
