DVD sets

We as a people have been getting many DVD sets recently. Sadly though, I think hollywood hates the nerd comunity. Yes we have gotten lucky and got many wonderful nerdarific dvd sets like the Credic and all of the transformers eps on dvd, but what about the other great cult classics?

Where is the Duck Tales dvd set, or the Real Ghostbusters dvd set? Why is fucking Dallas on dvd, or Everyone Loves ramoinwtfever on dvd, yet these shows go un dvded?

And why are some dvd sets so fucking expensive? Why are all star treck dvd sets 100 bucks, when I can go out and get a full season of aqua teen hunger for 20 or 30 bucks? Yes, I know that more money went into star treck, but don't you think it has long past made up for that?

This is just insane.

What really pissed me off was spoilers on the 24 boxset box.

Also, pissed off that I have to wait a year or so for the next 24 boxset, but thats no ones fault.

All I want is Howard the Duck on DVD. Garbage Pail Kids the movie is getting a widescreen dvd release for cripe's sake.

Star Trek is expensive because:
1)Paramount owns it
2)They know they can get away with it.
3)One season of ATHF is like 200 minutes while one season of Star Trek is like 1000 minutes.
4)Star Trek >>>>> ATHF.
5)Paramount is notorious for ripping people off, botching sets, lying and releasing barebones discs.

Xfiles was the other 100 dollar a season show but they've recently dropped their prices to around 50 dollars or so.

There's only one movie not on DVD that I want: Raise the Red Lantern.

As for TV shows... all I want is Sopranos Season 5, which I know is coming. I watched Duck Tales, yea... when I was 10.

Really? What a great show that was, at least for a few seasons in the middle.

The Tick (animated)
Dr. Katz
Freakazoid (this is your preemptive shh, Regus)
Undeclared

I wouldn't mind more stand-up comedy DVDs, either.

OMFCOPYRIGHTINFRINGEMENT!

Don't forget that they will re-release every DVD you ever owned in new HD format(s) (Blu-ray and/or HD-DVD) beginning this year. So you will end up rebuying everything (as soon as you adopt HDTV, then you will want to, and they know it).

That is one reason why I stopped buying DVDs about 3 months ago. I think Netflix might be a good way to watch what you want.
