The only Saturday morning cartoon I would want to own on DVD, is Freakazoid! Mainly because I found it really funny, and would still find it funny. Plus it vanished off the airwaves and I want to see the episodes again somehow.

The traditional saturday morning cartoons I could care less for. Sure I loved Ducktales as a kid, but its not the kind of thing that holds up so well. Its a pure nostalgia trip if anything. Saw an episode like a week ago on Toon Disney, and it was a pretty bad experience, the animation looks so bad now.

Plus for me, its a matter of saving things from disapearing forever. I want more things that are off the air, rather than ones that are still on. Freakazoid! is not shown anywhere, Ducktales and other Disney Afternoon stuff still is.

Oh and 90% of anime is garbage. Outside the few movies here and there it is all crap. The TV shows are drawn out nightmares. They all copy each other, and once someone does something new 8 copycats pour out the pipeline.

that can be said for any entertainment medium.

Anime has a higer crap ratio than all the others though.

I think 95% is a little more accurate.

I would pick up some seasons of various cartoons on DVD. Batman the Animated Series is one I intend to pick up whenever I get some coinage, and I'd kill for a Starblazers series set that I didn't have to order online to get. I would also be tempted to get Transformers G1 if it wasn't such a ripoff, as it was when I last saw the prices. I already have the beginnings of a Robotech collection.

My brother is a huge Stargate fan, and has every season thats been released to DVD. I'm just waiting on the new season and the first season of Atlantis, which was an fantastic way to expand the universe of that series.

All Freakazoid ever struck me as was a lame attempt to cash in on the whole Animaniacs wackiness that was popular at the time.

Animaniacs > Freakazoid

The only cartoon I'd want a DVD set of is The Tick. And maybe Inspector Gadget (though I think that would get old once the nostalga wore off). Otherwise, I don't care.

Oh, no, lord no. I mean, I used to love it as a kid, but even then I had a hard time sitting through Hip Hippos, Rita & Runt, Buttons & Mindy, and a bunch of the other placeholder features. Plus now in addition to those, the ones you remember as 'good' aren't that great. Best you can hope for now is that you get one of the better Dr. Scratchansniff or Pinky & the Brain skits. Animaniacs has not held up at all.

Oh, I believe you. I only actually ever recall enjoying the Animanaics and Pinky and the Brain segments. The rest were retarded, like those stupid fucking birds or the dog/baby skits.
