I'm a big SNK fan, and haven't bought or played King of Fighters Dream Match '99 and Last Blade 2 for the DC yet. Can anyone offer me their opinion on the games? How well do they compare to the Neo Geo originals? Thanks in advance for your help. ^_~

Both are great games if your into more "technical" style fighters. You should be able to find LB2 fairly cheap nearly everywhere (I got a second copy for 9 bucks new at Bestbuy).
I'm a huge fighting nut, so I've played both of them to death. As far for how they compare to the orginals:
Last Blade II: I haven't played the arcade a lot, but from comparing screen shots, the character sprites maybe a TINY bit smaller in the DC version. This is just my opinion, so I could be totally wrong.
The domestic version was edited to have white blood, so if your a purists, you might want to get the import.
Also, another quirk is the voices sometime "lag" behind your moves by just a tiny-tiny bit. I only noticed it a couple of times though, as its mostly something I've heard people online complain about.
Overall, a great game, with amazing 2d graphics, and some of the best ambient music and sound effects of any fighter. If you like Samurai Shodown you'll love this game.
KoF Dream Match: Mmmmmm, sweet, sweet King of Fighters. I'm a huge fan of the series, so I say pick this up for whatever price you can find it at.
It's a great fighter, with a ton of depth if you want to take the time and get your learn on. Tons n' tons of moves/techniques, with about a zillion characters.
They did change the backgrounds from the original to have poly bg's, which imho are not that good. They refined there polygonal backgrounds quite a bit in the next game, KoF: Evolution. Still they look good, just not great.
And here is my biggest gripe with the game. The music. It's great, but: It reloads in between every match. Something you wouldn't think would be a big deal, but after a while it really starts to grate on you. So you end up only hearing the first 30 seconds of each track in the game...
Overall, if your into technical style fighters you'll love KoF.
Seeing how Dream Match '99 is really KoF '98, and how KoF '98 is, IMO, the best in the series...
Get it.
Last Blade 2 is good as well.
I like Last Blade's 2 music though I recall that people didn't like it. The last boss is cheap as hell though.
I like KOF 98 but didn't like the Strikers too much on 99.

Seeing "SNK" on the case tells you that. ;)Quote:

Or just knowing it's a fighting game. One of these days a developer will create a last boss that actually fights well, instead of relying on dirty tactics and pulling over-powered high-priority moves out of his ass.Quote:

Hard to say which I hate more. SNK bosses tend to have regular moves which are insane, but Capcom tends to have God-like supers all the time.
Lets just say buying Mark of the Wolves at the same time as Last Blade 2 = not much Last Blade 2 playing.
I never knew that Kof 98 was ported to the Dc? how does it compare to the saturn version?

KoF 98 was never on the Saturn....
Yes. Get Mark of the Wolves, KoF Dream Match, and SF III Third Strike and you'll have the best 2-D fighters in existence (with honourable mentions to SFA3, SamSho2 and SF2Turbo). Last Blade 2 has alot of style, but a kind of lightweight feel and isn't in the same class as the above three incredible games.Quote:
