Japan has huge water bugs/cockroaches. They are nasty but my little apartment doesn't have any thank goodness. As for you second comment I don't know what you mean by it.

They made a live-action/cartoon movie about it too. Twilight of the Cockroaches.

Way better than Joe's Apartment.

He probably means he thinks it is strange that a native Japanese speaker would be studying Japanese, but it's an incredibly stupid comment since we study English here in the states. How else would we know the difference between verbs and adverbs?

Ironically, however, many native English speakers can barely speak the damn language themselves.
