You're on my list, so I should be there. :)

THe online versus is going to be huge -- this one's going to be around for a long while. It's got a lot going for it aside from the good looks: smallish maps where (unlike SC games) you don't need to spend hours on end memorizing the level -- firefights can and do occur just about anywhere; small groups which means your almost guaranteed to spend most of your time playing with friends; and a strategic, but action-forward, style that seems fresh for the FPS/TPS crowd. Also, while reviving teammates has appeared in at least of couple of other games, it's a very different experience here: a teammate (very likely to be me) is screaming to have someone save his bleeding ass, and while you can see your buddy lying and dying, you know that popping your head up for even an instant is an invitation to being pulped.
Seems like most of the Cog Tags are found in the first 15% of the game. I'm not even through chapter 2 and I've found 10 (and I think I missed at least one).
Cliffy was spot-on when he said the cover system makes this game sort of like a horizontal platformer. It's a lot of fun.
The only gripe I have is some framerate stuttering (during one cutscene it was seriously going at 1 fps for a few seconds) and the uncanny prescience of the AI... like, a manned turret will be firing in a competely different direction from you (i.e. you are way out of the gunner's line of sight), then the millisecond you pop out it makes a stupid quick spin and is blasting at you before you've even fired a shot.
There was one instance during an online versus match where I took down a Locust player. Two of his teammates were at his spot to help him, only to be taken down by my teammate and me when they were exposed.
I really hated it when I confronted that in single-player. I made sure to get behind a turrent gunner, only I had trouble killing him because he kept magically spinning around to fire at me as he pinned down my teammates.Quote:

It was funny as hell though hearing them run through thier spiel at lightening pace. They all sounded like they were having panic attacks! lol I miss working retail.
I was at Gamestop yesterday morning to pick up Guitar Hero II, I must've been in there for only 5 or 6 minutes, but in that span, they recieved 7 or 8 calls for GOW. It was insane.
So I'm at work and all I can think about is the damn game. The sound of chainsaws dancing in my head.
Finally picked up my copy. Too bad I have school until 3:30 pm.
So... how bad is the camera? Do you even notice it while playing?
