Local places of interests

I thought this would be a good thread for people who do a lot of traveling and like to check out local places (resturants, bars, fun spots, etc) to have fun or what not.

If any one is in the Jacksonville, FL area, I would suggest:

Snips: While normally a hair salon isn't a place to check out but this is the place to go to get a hair cut because the women cutting your hair are dressed in sexy skimpy outfits and you get a free beer. Can't ask for anything more.

Lemon Bar: A hidden bar on the beach which is very nice. Good place to go and get away from everything.

Jacksonville Landing: A strip right on the St. Johns River full of shops, resturants, and live entertainment on the night and weekends. A good place to go with your friends for a fun time.

Lighthouse Grille: A great place to bring that special someone as it sits right on the river with huge windows looking out on the water. Very romantic feel with the dim lights at night.

Well, as you can see it isn't to exciting around here but there are things to do. Lets keep it the thread going with other locations! If your city has been posted already go ahead and list other things to do in the city!

Well, if you're in Lynchburg, VA...

Wal-Mart The home of "Everyday Low Prices", and damn near the only place in Lynchburg that is open past nine. Their rotisserie chicken is good, but they serve only beer and wine. And Boones Farm, the malt liquor that wants to be ripple.

Cinemark A.K.A. "The Dollar Theater" or "The Buck Fifty Theater". Most of the movies have had their run in the luxury theaters, and they defintely try to make up for their cheap-o tickets by charging you $0.75 to play Tower of Doom, as well as $3.75 for day-old candy. However, it's probably the single best movie rental racket I've ever seen (fuck renting from BallBuster when I can watch that shit for a buck fifty on a gimungous theater screen). Hell, sometimes some of the movies arrive while they are still in the rich man's theaters.

River Ridge Mall Shit mall, but the GameStop is actually the coolest GameStop I've ever been in. Nice guys (and chick), for reals. Oh, and while the mall arcade is okay, the 'manager' in there is a complete lying dick assfuck. I asked about possibly buying a Japanese Tekken 5 poster they had, and his tweaker ass up and lied in my face, all like "Uh, I don't know where that poster came from, it's just there". There's some trench coat dude that the manager is obviously cool with who comes in and plays Tekken 5 religiously. With a PS2 pad. Pussy.

Lynchburg is teh awesomehotcoreness, I swear.

My Aunt runs Denino's Pizza in Staten. Best pizza I've ever eaten, period. I remember my uncle telling me the place was voted the best pizzeria in the five borroughs by some magazine, if I remember correctly.

I think Toronto's attractions are the best to go to around here. There're several good malls nearby. But for the bigger city action you'd head down to Toronto. Queens street alone has all of the shopping and restaurants you could ever want.

Lansing, Michigan


We have a theater called Celebration Cinema that has an IMAX screen.


There is an interesting restaurant here called Clara's that was once a train station. It is 2 floors and also a has a parked dining car as part of the restraunt. Sometimes there is also live piano music playing.


We have 2 nice shopping malls. The Eastwood Towne Mall is a little nicer and has some good restaurants there. I personally like Smokey Bones for the barbecue food.

In East Lansing there is an interesting buffet style restaurant called The Mongolian Barbecue that I'd recommend checking out. It's sort of like a custom stir-fry. You choose what meat you want, add veggies, seasonings, and then hand over the cup to one of the cooks and they cook it for you.

I wouldnt mention anything about New Jersey, because New Jersey sucks ass, but if anyone wants to know whats cool in LA, well thats a different story.

Stillwater, Minnesota!

Come and visit our annoying "quaint" downtown! With really expensive resturants that look "old timey"

We have a stupid "old timey" railroad you can ride and eat dinner on, its expensive!

We have a left bridge, if a big ass boat comes down the St. Croix River the bridge goes up and road traffic gets GOD FUCKING AWFUL!

Streets on the side of a giant hill, some close in the winter bcause they are so goddamned steep!

A rock climbing place inside a old giant metal silo with no A.C., if its summer its 9,000 degrees in there, awesome for climbing!

Antiques shops up the butt, loaded with old people from everywhere every weekend of the whole year! If its the weekend, downtown = old people old people old people!
