Firefox 1.0.4 vs Opera 8 . . . Which Do You Prefer?

I have been using Firefix from the beta days and i have been very happy with it, but lately with FF 1.0.4 it's been starting to have seriousl issues with japa applications and slwness when accessin sites.

i have tried(and purchased Opera 8) and it works great, but it has too many features that i dont need(but then agian i dont mind them being there)


now my qiestion is, has anyone encountered this problem with FF 1.0.4? or is 1.0.4 a shitty version? i remeber version 1.0 was great.

what are your thoughs and experiences with this isssue? ... ofcourse i still and rarely use I to download win updates and stuff(for the basic stuff)

and let me add that im such a huge FF fan that i bought thier mug and tshirt merchandise! :D

but FF peformance lately is disspoainting me! :(

Yahoo IE on left and Yahoo FF on right.

Yahoo looks perfect for me on FireFox. In fact..I have no problems with FF and I always use the updated version. I did have some trouble when I had some extensions turned on (especially Flashblock which crashed FF sometimes) but I just turned them all off and its all good.

Opera seems nice but I"m not paying for any browser. I know Opera is free with a ad up there but I dont want any ads either. Firefox is good enough for me.

A browser is not worth paying for when I an get FireFox for free which has Adblock, Flash block, crash recovery, tabbed browsing, the built in search bars and gmail notifiers... I could go on, but you get the picture. I am sorry to hear that the sites aren't working for you, but I've had no issues... maybe you changed a setting by accident without realizing it.

i dont mind paying for Opera, the only thing with Opera is that it has WAY TO MANY OPTION IT'S OVERHELMING!

I still use IE.

Why? Because I just dont care. Firefox has all of those great little features, but i find myself thinking "Eh, whatever" when it comes down to it.

If anything, I prefer Opera to FF. And you don't actually have to pay for it. Its just like mIRC. Millions of people have downloaded it, but maybe a dozen or so have paid for it.

raystorm, i uninstalled all extensions, and cleared the cache, password, history and all that stuff and it works fine now :)

i even re-installed google toolbar, which i cant live without and all is good now my friends. thanks! ;)

btw, i really hope we see a newer improved FF version, let's say FF 2.0 ? :)

I've never used Opera but I like Firefox except for one thing. Firefox ignores every bit of Formatting I do in ASP.NET using VB.NET IDE, it's so fucking annoying and a pain in the ass. Firefox is far from perfect, in fact the main reason I like it are the tabs, which IE 7 will have. So I look forward to that.

yah it took IE an entire eternity to figure out what tabs are!


i'm still sticking with FF, cuz IE7 will suck anyways. curiouse, when is IE7 coming out?
