I'm in the "it's way too god damn long" camp. I didn't mind the set up at the beginning, Skull island was the main problem. They were there too damn long, getting chased by too many animals. How many T-rexs does Kong really need to fight? Not the 1,373 he did in the movie. I was sick of the island half way through the brontesaurus chase, and that was just the beginning! They could have chopped an hour out of Skull island easy.
I think everyone is in the "it's way too long" camp. How you were bored during Skull Island is beyond me, though.
You know who might have actually been a better Carl Denham? George Clooney. If you see him in O Brother and Intorlerable Cruelty, it's not hard to picture him as a 1930s slick-talking sheister.
There was one T-rex fight in the whole movie, during which he fought 3 rexes. Stop trying so hard.Quote:

Chill out and enjoy the ride people.Quote:

It is a very stupid excuse to avoid going to the movie for. Nobody honestly believes these people who have time to sit through a 2 hour movie event can't spare one more hour for a genuinely great experience.Quote:

I don't think making this movie less than 2:30 would be that good an idea, either. The backstory needs time to be established.
You can always tell when people don't really have valid input when they suggest cutting 2 minutes of suspense out of the film and act like it's the technical achievement of the century.
Fuck. I was too late to save this thread from the andrew-monster :(
Anyway, great movie but I'll probably never sit through it again.
"I GOTTA EAT THOSE TACOS!"
"NO JIMMY! YOU CAN'T EAT THOSE TACOS!"
My main problem with the LOTR movies were their length. Three hour movies are definitely once in a long while type things.
It could be our attention spans though. I find it hard to sit through 2 hour movies some times.
