Ok, before I start my appologies if this is in the wrong forum. I had my choice of three (cinema, music or this). This one wins.
Anyway, is anyone watching this? It's horrrible. VH1 and MTV are both showing the exact same thing w/different commericals (more on that in a minute). They could at least show different acts since most people have both channels and then we could flip back and forth between the two. Speaking of acts, I've seen more interviews w/the people in the crowd, who I could give to shits about than I have of the actual concert. I wasn't sure at first if the bands were doing full sets or just a couple of songs. Well, turns out they are full sets but we are only seeing one song and sometimes not even the entire song. The showed the first verse of Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" then went to commercial and nothing else from them. WTF? Next, here's clips of Elton John, Coldplay and U2 performing, but we won't show the whole thing. Black Eye Peas came out w/members of the Marley family. Too bad we didn't get to see the whole song.
MTV is so missing the point w/their coverage. People want to see the acts, hence the reason we are watching. Oh, I also mentioned the commercials. This whole thing is to bring awareness to the poverty in Africa but our big corporations here in America have decided to capitilize on the popularity and get their commercials shown.
Big company: "Sure there's poverty in Africa and people are starving. But let's let the people of our country want to go to Taco Bell and eat."
Smart, people. Smart.
