I have white skin too, but it doesn't mean my ancestors benefited from much of anything - seeing as the bulk of my lineage moved to the US a few generations ago, and at least half of it from places that had nothing to do with African slavery at all. Should I only feel 35%-50% guilty?

Now, that doesn't mean I can't be generous and help the downtrodden, but's it's coming from a place of graciousness and not guilt. That being said, the kind of stuff that goes on in Africa that gets completely un-noticed and ignored by our wonderful media is outrageous. Of course, if they showed them they'd have to admit that, like it or not - Africa is quite frankly worse now under black rule than it was under the white rule they went apeshit about in the '80's. The brutal government sponsored slaughter of hundreds of innocent, middle-class farmers in South Africa and the subsequent food crisis are solely the Marxist dictators cause and no one elses. We're talking roving mobs, tieing you up, making you watch them gang rape your wife while they burn her with an iron, then hanging your 12 year old kid and shooting you in the head. All completely and absolutely ignored by the US media, though so is what happens at diamond mines and many other African government/corruption problems.

Maybe, just maybe - as cruel as it is, the AIDS epidemic in Africa is natures way of thining the herd. Evolution solving it's own problems, if you will. Because maybe the smarter Africans who don't get AIDS and think they have to rape 2 year-old virgins to "cure" themselves will survive and build a stronger society.

Wait a minute, what am I thinking? Of course it's all whiteys fault and throwing gobs of money at Africa is going to fix their societal woes....

Regarding the concerts - Pink Floyd reunited was great, I remember reading an interview with Roger Waters just a few years ago in Classic Rock Magazine where he said he'd never ever get on stage with David Gilmour again. Time heals I guess. Green Day was great, but what was up with the Berlin set up for the concert? One long vertical strip of crowd walled in by trees. What was up with that? Why not just schedule it in a big wide open park somewhere? Oh and Tim McGraw playing in Rome? LAWL. No one in the audience seemed to know or care about who he was, they were just milling about. From what I see, Duran Duran, Green Day, Motely Crue, Floyd, Leppard and U2 got the crowds going the most. Although I must say Rome was bonkers for Laura Pausini. Pretty lame concerts on the whole.

Roger's been warming up in recent years, saying things like "it'd have to be a one-off gig for charity" not too long ago. Rick Wright did appear in the crowd at one of his '99 shows, though nobody believed it at the time - and him and Nick Mason have been hanging out again lately. And if you've seen the "Classic Albums - Making of Dark Side" DVD you wouldn't think a reunion was impossible. It was creepy, they are all interviewed separately and complimenting one another left and right. But it looks like Dave was the apprehensive one, he was the last to agree on it - and looked a little grumpy on stage. But it is his ego that has to deal with people being excited about Pink Floyd "reuniting", when he might argue that him and a bunch of hired writers was still Pink Floyd all along.

It's funny, after all these years of being made the "bad-guy" asshole by the press - Roger was the one grinning from ear to ear the whole time. He was having a blast, and he was the one to coax Dave over for the big group pose too.

Dave Gilmour always has been an asshole, Roger Waters throws better shows anyway. I think this may be it though, doesn't look like any permanent reunion will happen. Sad.

Yes, it's all the African's fault. Undercutting African grain prices by encouraging superfarms in the US has no effect on Africa. Sure, what harm does it do to subsidise farmers in the US to flood Africa with cheap product so the Africans can't profit from selling their own?

And the EU's Common Agricultural Policy to protect French farmers imports? Ah, what harm could that possibly do? Just read this from Widipedia and imagine non-EU goods are African:
