That's why they democratically elected one of the former Iranian Embassy hostage takers into the office of President? I guess it could have been rigged, but you'd think that would be the perfect spark for a reform revolution. Instead, nothing. Maybe they aren't as far along as everyone thought. Maybe the youth / student movement isn't as strong as we gave it credit.

If I were to guess, I would say that maybe it was fears of an impending invasion from the Coalition that caused the people to swing more to the extreme.

I'm begining to think we should regard terrorism as a event disaster. Something you can plan for but never prevent. Similar to lightning strikes. To be honest we should be focusing on the G8 confrence anyway. Compared to deaths by terrorism, other problems like oh AIDS and poverty world wide kill more people per month than terrorists do in a year.

No, but he did lead America on it's first military invasion becuase the country was suppose to have WMD, yet it didn't. North Korea on the other hand wasn't invaded, and its been quite public about their Nuclear desires since before the war.
