Looking just at third party titles, you'd think PSP was crushing DS. Nintendo must be making some crazy bank with their first party numbers, though.

And yeah, the only third party title in the top ten for the DS is Naruto at number 9, I believe.

Sony has published two PSP games with sales over 100,000, while Nintendo has ten DS games will sales over 100,000.

either that or PSP owners are having just enough fun with a few games rather then DS owners having to buy every gimmicy game that comes out to justify the purchase of their handheld.

Not really. There are only three games on the PSP that have higher sales numbers than the top selling third part DS game, and two of them are very logical (Ridge Racer and Tales). Barring those three games, sales of DS games are keeping pretty good pace with PSP games. The DS simply doesn't have any of those "huge" titles from third party companies yet, and when it does, I'm sure it'll sell 100,000+.

What is interesting to me is how many puzzle games on the DS have higher sales numbers than the PSP's top puzzle game, Lumines. DS has three games, even without counting stuff like Mr. Driller, before you get to Lumines.

Interesting how you gave numbers from 3 months ago, which is also the last time the DS was outsold by the PSP. Software sales for PSP have been terrible since.
